Please try to continue posting as much of your devlog as possible. This is one of the most inspiring devlogs I've come across.

I really hope you're the one to give us the manual football game the world deserves. You can market it as the dark souls of football. There's too much automation and "accessibility" in football games now. Don't get swallowed up with the rest. Go fully Manual with passing and shooting. Slowed pace so the animations aren't broken. Look at something like eFootball version 0.91.
@voltagegaming96248 ай бұрын
I second this, there's a huge gap in this market, anything that came close to this was PES 2022 but it is dead now with the eFootball rebrand.

This looks great! Really looking forward to the rest of your videos. I’ve always wanted to make a 3D football game, but as a solo developer, it always looked too daunting to even consider making it a reality. But you showed me that it doesn’t have to be. Maybe I will start making my own in the future. Definitely will be trying out your demo and providing feedback as soon as it comes out. I also want to appreciate how much content you packed in less than 9 minutes. Other devlog videos are so long they’re almost a chore to watch. Thanks for keeping it short and sweet!

I also want to mention that I considered making my own game engine because, just like you, I wanted to know exactly how games worked-down to the lowest level. I eventually gave up on that and started using Godot. Which is a great FOSS game engine, if you ever want to try one out that is not owned by a big corporation.

Oh man you might just be the saviour of football video gaming, despite the EA game making it seem like they are the only ones in the scene I believe ambitious people like you can truly make a game that feels and plays like football from a player pov and actually be fun. Looking forward to the demo and good luck 🔥👍🏼

all the best, there's definitely a market for a realistic, beautiful football games that brings back some of the PES glorious days (for instance). But don't despair, the quantity of animations and 11v11 AI features will likely be tough nuts to crack especially solo. Insta sub from my end! I look forward to your updates and salute your courage and smart work!

There was a great game called Football Superstars, if you wanted people to each control an individual and play 5v5 or 11v11 together that can also be amazing (that's just my dream game). Either way super impressed.

There used to be a game like this. It was called Football Superstars. I played it the most between 2009-2011, before they destroyed it with pay to win microtransactions (shoes and other items which were increasing stats, but were usable for like 10 matches and then you had to buy new ones).

Would you consider adding simple VR support to your engine? If you ever manage to actually add 11v11 mode and the view will look like in other football games (from the side), simple VR view which would make looking left and right possible would be amazing (and the feel of depth, maybe optional camera from the stands for immersive fun). The camera would need to be stationary - it doesn't induce motion sickness like moving camera does (although with 6DOF room scale movement when you move your head, it doesn't make you motion sick too). I tried to play some football games using multiple monitors, so you could see the entire pitch all the time and for some games it worked, but also some things usually were a bit broken and I prefer to play on a single monitor or in VR. I know that most VR games are FPP, but not all are like that. Moss, Moss: Book Two, The Curious Tale of the Stolen Pets, some tower defense and strategy games, etc. show that it works and can be really enjoyable. Just think about putting it on your todo list to have fun with

I think the placement of the feet looks good, but the rotation of the feet between steps looks somewhat unnatural. The skeleton also looked like it can only lean forward and back, and not side to side at all. I would try to find good detailed reference footage for how people run and dribble and compare the movement of your system to the real world. I haven't done this but I'd guess that people lean a bit to the left and right when changing the direction they are running in, and that peoples feet might tend to point toward the direction of their current momentum.
@fusarihan9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the detailed feedback! The skeleton is pretty much a placeholder in this video, definitely will be better, I’m working on it 🙌

Honestly why do you need to make a real football game 11v11? This looks like it also could be a fun and goofy game where you need to get the ball across the level through obstacles. Kind of like human fall flat.

Indie games have the benefit that they can be different and special. There are already dozens football simulation games out there that are really good. You could totally try to take this football mechanics that you built and do something crazy with it ;-) That has not been done before. That’s what’s makes indie games worth.

3 months to make a game? AAA "quality"?? Keep develop it after release??? Uh? 😅
@fusarihan9 ай бұрын
I already explained these in the video… Let me try my best to summarize it. - 3 months for playable demo (imagine practice arena from fifa but in a public alpha stage) - AAA look and feel (I have super less number of assets and mechanics to polish, compared to an actual AAA game) - Continuous feedback with playable demo to improve the game mechanics (there is no full release date)
