That scraggly Frieza voice at the start was them teasing the DBZA all those years ago when these episodes were coming out. Pretty much the fans were wondering what abridged Frieza was going to sound like, keep in mind this abridged special came out before they got to the namek saga, so no one had any idea what Frieza was going to sound like at the time. This special is the first time they had shown abridged Frieza, so the scraggly voice was meant to throw people off

Yeah you might remember there is an episode of Abridged where Vegeta refers to Planet 419 where the mer-people regenerated, and you hear them call out some future events in the series like " BULMA AND VEGETA HAVE A KID!" I still think one of the funniest jokes for some reason is the one where it suggests Freeza just throws out random numbers to name each planet and isn't even going in order, since Bardock is on Freeza Planet 692 but the newest acquisition is called Freeza Planet 419. Also, this one doesn't really have Dodoria with the usual voice, and has her refer to herself as a guy, because this was made before they got to Namek in the main series so they hadn't yet established or even really come up with the idea of her being a woman.
