The "trick" is just that the shackles have a massive range of triggering everything that reacts to "a hit of any kind (even a non-damaging one)" Which had been a thing for the base game as well

I always have Mogh shackle in my consum bar to check hidden war in dlc. 1 time I go near the spring and try to heal but forget shackle is on, so I was suprised that the rock is broken by that. A welcome accident.

Not many people know that the shackle has a ridiculous range of hit boxes with 0 damage. That's why I keep using this in every dungeon since this item literally will open the hidden wall and turn off/on any trigger instantly while I was still in the grace.
