Sam is quite simply the greatest homegrown talent from Wigan's academy in the Super League era. His first spell with Wigan he was - at times - unplayable. Was one of the first in Super League to modernise the attacking fullback role under Michael Maguire. A Super League legend. A simply brilliant player. Thank you, Sam.

I watched him for Wigan at Trinity when he was in his pomp and he almost single handedly tore us to pieces, I could do nothing but clap him off the field. He was pretty much unplayable. Good luck with your retirement Sam

Great player, only seems like yesterday when he burst on the scene as the best young player in the game for us at Wigan .

Note to the interviewer: Once you've asked a question, let the person you're interviewing speak rather than 'adding' to their dialogue

Didn't notice she did that. There are some crap interviewers about that do this but she is certainly not one of then

Not an expert on League at all but I find this hard to listen to. He is clearly a great player but the coach and owner should be prioritising his welfare…God knows what damage he has done with playing ‘just 5 more games!!’ that will unnecessarily affect the rest of his life.
