Tami, I would like you to tackle the issue of race in Jamaica, you have a blended family and there seemed to be nothing but love and respect from you and your family towards others no matter what the hue. The way you have treated Momo, and incorporated her into your family is truly amazing, the respect and love towards her shows that she is a treasured and important part of your family. I hope others take heed as to how to navigate between the haves and the haves hope. It is a topic that most Jamaicans will not address, but it has been there no matter the denial since I was a child growing up in Jamaica, and that has been many moons ago. Let me wish you and your family the very best and much success in all your endeavors
@christineweston66922 жыл бұрын
Hey Sonia, i appreciate your post. I grew up with parents who never talked about race or colour, so never saw they were different until at 11yrs old, someone actually told me, they were. We also had to respect and obey our helpers. I am so grateful to my parents for these lessons learned. All the best. Nana.

Love this space! Mom of 2 here just had my second baby girl in December and it's a different journey for me because I didnt get to breastfeed the first one due to her tongue tie and lip tie. That was released late. I didnt even know what that was until I had her. So when I had the second one I made sure to have it checked and sure enough she was also. I got it released early and now I'm able to breastfeed and I'm enjoying this. Any mommies out there had a child with tongue tie or lip tie issue???
@SeenAndHeardTamiAndTessanne2 жыл бұрын
yes! Such great info and so many parents miss that just because we sometimes don't know what to look for. I definitely will be doing an episode on breastfeeding and hopefully with a lactation specialist.
@daniellekf12 жыл бұрын
@@SeenAndHeardTamiAndTessanne yes Tami it will help alot. Thank you. There is alot we dont know about tongue & lip tie and I've educated myself on it after experiencing it with my first one. It basically robbed me from breastfeeding because baby girl was restricted so I made sure to ask for a check on the second one. It's a journey and if ever u need a mother to talk about that experience I'll gladly share but for sure a lactation consultant can educate us all.
