So if it tasted sour and/or salty, the salt could come from a small breach in the system, and if it was more sour, then it could just be from that much CO2, as it does have a taste that our tongues can recognize, so it makes sense if you had alot of CO2 and not alot of drink, Lovely test, and lovely execution, Cant wait to see more!

Ah yes, the classic "didn't let a thing air out for a couple of weeks after using PVC cement" blunder. Probably why the soda tasted so bad in the end. Did that once after building a PVC scuba tank and only letting it air out for a couple of days before pumping it up and going straight into the pool. That first breath, with the mix of pretty awful burning from the remaining fumes mixed with the 'oh sh*t i need to breathe' made for a very unpleasant experience. After a few recharges and just venting it into the air everything cleared up and it was a pretty neat experience, even though the tank only held about two breaths worth of air. EDIT: What does being in the Weisz Task Force actually mean? Just helping out with projects for internet points/shoutouts?

"Today we carbonate soda the hardest way possible" - Continues to make an even harder way to carbonate soda.
@VoidHalo2 жыл бұрын
There's a famous video of Chris Hadfield in an undersea laboratory under high pressure atmosphere. He shakes up a can of soda/pop/cola/take your pick and then opens it, and it doesn't fizz over or do anything because the air pressure's so high it keeps the carbonation inside the soda. Or at least keeps it from leaking out as fast. Probably the latter. I'm not sure what the "vapor pressure" of the co2 coming off cola is. Or if carbonation even works the same as vapor pressure. I'd imagine as the drink becomes less carbonated, the pressure of the co2 coming off of it would be lower. I don't know, but I have to find out now. I just dunno what I'd google other than "cola vapor pressure" which I don't think Google would know what I'm trying to look for if I searched that.

Unfortunately soda stream flavors are not the best but I think you probably had a leak in the line somewhere that let some salt water in or it could be that from using commercial grade co2 and not beverage grade co2 there was likely an additive to the gas to prevent people from inhaling/ drinking the co2
@nikkiofthevalley2 жыл бұрын
Given that they got it from a brewery supplies store, I'd hope it's beverage grade.
