As a physician I totally agree with you…. I am semi retired and see that medicine has become a disease management system. Not about health. There are only a few people who have special conditions : end stage kidney, pheochromsatoma etc. that will need pharmacological treatments. Make sure you are measuring your own blood pressure correctly. Then exercise, lose weight Breathing protocols and reduced stress, reduce sugars and seed oils. Eat whole food drop the processed foods. Make sure you get minerals and vitamins levels back to normal and maintain these…supplements help but food is better.

Dear Adam, this video is the holy grail of all the videos on KZbin. It summarised everything a person needs to know in 31minutes and gives us the mental road map on how to become metabolically healthy. As a result of watching your channel in the last four months I've gone from 307 pounds to 242 pounds. My goal is to reach 190 pounds by the end of the year. I love your videos Adam and hope to meet you someday. Thank you everything you've done for us!!! 👍👍👍👍👍

As for diet, start with one change. For example, put a bigger portion of meat (or other protein) on your plate. Followed by a medium portion of veggies. And finally, a smaller portion of carbs than you normally would. Big changes begin with small steps.

Just to clarify ... Low-carb encompasses different methods. Atkins was low-carb, high protein, high fat (Dr. Atkins modified it slightly to be slightly lower in fat). Keto (LCHF) is very low carb, moderate protein, high fat. Intermittent fasting is not necessarily low-carb, although in my case it is because I have PCOS and insulin resistance. However, I know a number of people who don't do low-carb but do intermittent fasting, and they've lost weight and improved their blood lipids.

Hi Dr. Adam, I'm Asif from india. I find your videos really interesting and worth watching. I used to be on BP medication right from my early 30s. But last 4 years I have completely stopped my medication after following Keto/carnivore diet. But sometimes when I tend to eat more carbs my BP goes up but that's also not too much. Nevertheless I also like to point out that about the extreme diet what you pointed is actually great way to detoxify ones body. As a Muslim we are following such an obligatory dry fast like you mentioned for a month known as Ramadan.

First time I listen to a Dr. That shared many suggestions for viewers. You talked about choices and different types of diets because many Drs here are becoming confusing suggesting their own diet. Others criticise diets. I find that the way you put it makes so much sense. I go to the gym 5 days a week and besides that I walk of run 3 to 4 days as well. I meditate, do deep breathing and eat and very healthy diet and now shows that my blood sugar is high,.....I do not know what to do any longer. I am a pescatarian but do only a few fish and they are wild caught. I eat lots of vegies and salads. I do avoid almost all sugar.....where am I going wrong??? Who knows...MINDY

@@AASA76 8 Things You Need to Know Before Trying a Coffee Enema 1. The purpose of coffee enemas is to stimulate the liver to increase its detoxification of the blood and decrease the toxic load on the liver. This includes removing a variety of toxins and free radicals from the bloodstream. They assist the liver so as not to overburden an already sluggish and toxic liver with the flood of toxins dislodged from the clean, nutrient-dense food and juice of the Gerson Therapy. They are a required component of the Gerson Therapy’s treatment system. 2. They are not for everyone. Coffee enemas are not recommended unless under strict supervision of an experienced Gerson Practitioner if any of the following exist: a. Currently undergoing chemotherapy b. Renal, cardiac or respiratory failure c. Bleeding and/or ulceration in the colon tract d. Ulcerative Colitis e. Crohn’s disease f. Ileostomy (no colon) g. Hypertension and/or tachycardia h. Pregnant (consult with your primary physician or Gerson Practitioner) i. Acute or ongoing chronic diarrhea until investigated by a physician j. First 6-8 weeks post-surgery (always check with your primary physician or Gerson Practitioner) 3. The coffee solution is not held in the liver. In fact, it’s held in the colon. The vessels in the lower part of the descending colon and rectum carry the solution to the liver. The potent compounds in coffee are absorbed by the hemorrhoidal and mesenteric veins that route to the liver. 4. The coffee enema itself does not produce bile. The coffee does cause some stimulation of the liver to produce bile, but it’s the potent compounds including caffeine, theobromine and theophylline that dilate blood vessels, bile ducts and relax smooth muscles, increasing the flow of bile. 5. Electrolytes are lost during evacuation, and therefore coffee enemas should always be balanced by juice. The typical ratio is 3:1 (three, 8 oz. juices for each coffee enema). Those not on a Gerson Therapy protocol should drink plenty of water. 6. The body does not become dependent on coffee enemas to have a bowel movement. Upon completion of the Gerson Therapy, patients have no issues generating bowel movements without coffee enemas. 7. A variety of coffee is appropriate for use, ranging from gold, green and white, to light and medium roasts. Dark roasts are not appropriate because the potent compounds have been roasted out. Gold, green or white beans are very potent, with light to medium roasts typically well-tolerated by most. If you are new to coffee enemas, green, gold or white beans may not be best to start with. Instead, start with a medium or light roast. Coffee must be organic and we recommend fair-trade, sustainable coffee. 8. Dr. Gerson did not invent coffee enemas. Coffee enemas have appeared in medical writings dating back to ancient Egypt and have been cited in case reports and articles from the late 1800s¹. REMINDER: Always check with your primary care physician or licensed medial professional before attempting a coffee enema. If you have a chronic disease or cancer and are considering the Gerson Therapy, please work with our Gerson Practitioner Network to receive a personalized protocol and ongoing case management. Visit our Get Started page to apply

FINALLY, someone who gets it! The brain is naturally resistant to change. For most people the only way to develop the "consistent exercise habbit" is to start small. The brain can handle 4 minutes a day. Do that for a week, then 5 minutes a day for a week, and so forth. It may sound ridiculous, but it's better than doing nothing and it works!

I can’t do strong exercises due to back injuries work related. Even walking for a 1/2 mile due to back pain. Can you do yoga or Tai chi exercises? I’m 62.

Yoga and Tai chi are both excellent exercises for fitness, balance, flexibility, relaxation, and strength, all of which are helpful for general health and well-being, including lowering BP.

I do eat healthy and do light gardening. Sorry I’m 61. I hope you can recommend other light exercises, other alternatives besides walking that I can’t do for long periods of times. Offer other suggestions.

Just walk a few minutes at a time. You can also carry a small folding stool to rest as needed. (I’ve seen fishermen use these because they are easy to carry)They also make small cycles that you can use while setting down. Or even a stationary bike. I’m 71 and love walking. Of course gardening is great in so many ways. Good luck!

I wear AFO’s (leg braces on both legs), I started by doing sitting aerobic exercises, I ride a bike and do squats by holding my kitchen counter. I am now able to walk on a treadmill for 20-25 minutes, rather slowly, but I do it daily. There is always a way to get in exercise. ❤

I have MS, have severe spasticity and weakness in my legs, how do exercise to gain the same benefits for my BP as walking? My diet is pretty pristine though, I'm very careful about every aspect of my health otherwise. Recent checkup showed I was in peak metabolic health.Just the MS and BP are issues.

Hi Dr I have a question…what do you recommend for someone who is 72 yrs old. With a disability in the back and one leg walking with a walker which isn’t easy to do because the walker hurts your arms but if I go to the gym on the treadmill I can hang on even though it aggravates my leg & back. So what would you recommend. I appreciate your advice I’m on 40 mg of Lisprinal blood pressure pill and I’m not overweight 98 lb thank u Deborah
