It's very interesting seeing how much shorter Hikaru's interview was than magnus. It really shows how fast hikaru thinks and how quick and direct he answers questions, whereas magnus kind of extrapolates on the questions and answers everything *around* the question before giving his final answer. It's almost like their styles of talking and thinking in real life reflect the different ways they view and play chess, with hikaru preferring and more or less specializing in speed chess, and magnus being undisbutedly the best classical player

They say you either die the hero or live long enough to be the villain. I think he might be one of the rare instances in time where we see one of the greats live long as a hero through and through.
@searsino3 ай бұрын
LMAO. Is this Hikaru's alt account? He literally still throws tantrums in tournaments. Not two months ago he was calling Alireza names after a loss LOL. He tried to convince everyone that he was "just playing for content" at the champion chess tour so clearly because he had been doing quite poorly otb. That is what a child says when making excuses for doing badly at something. Not to mention the role he continues to have in harrassment of Hans Neiman (who was a teenager when it started) over trumped up cheating allegations. What planet are you living on? Now that I think of it, this mustb be a sarcastic comment. It's the type of thing somebody says if they want to describe the exact opposite of what kind of person Hikaru is. You got me buddy

@@searsino People are multifaceted, things are most of the times not black and white. I think it's abundantly clear that Hikaru has grown and changed over the past few years, but most of old Hikaru is still there.When those old character traits bubble up in, for example, name-calling Alireza, it's evidence of just that, not that he's otherwise acting. Sure, there's probably a portion of it that's "fake it until you make it" (i.e., he wants to change, and so he says what he thinks he should say, but it doesn't represent fully what he actually thinks and/or feels), but that's a natural process of wanting to change something about your present self. I agree though that OP's comment was probably meant to be read as sarcastic.

The more content he makes the thinner he spreads himself on other tasks such as the GM norms pursuit. Instead of just stopping the competitive chess for 7 weeks he should also limit his YT grind to complement tournaments withdrawal and use that time to up his game. The fact he doesn't and instead travels across the Pond to cover the SCC makes me think he is not actually after the GM title for real, more like he's in it for the views amd subs and YT ad dosh. Which is 100% fine btw just a bit disingenious towards his audience who are rooting for him becoming a GM.

Hanz caused these problems because he cheated and he had suspicious interviews. At age 12 his dad helped him cheat over the board. At age 12 and at age 16 he got caught cheating online. Investigation shows he probably cheated in 100s of online games. He admitted to cheating at 12 and 16 years old, he lies when he says it was only a few games. If anyone talks about this situation they have to hold back considerably to try to make Hanz look more innocent. Hans has no tact, Hans has no political correctness, he speaks poorly, he sucks at debating, he's cringe, he picks the wrong fights, he falls into traps, he makes offensive claims, Hanz hurts himself. Hanz is now a grown man who is clueless as to how to defend himself. Hint: stop taking about it, shut it down when it comes up, refuse to answer questions on it, don't demand apologies, move on. Hanz deserves this, not because he cheated, but because he's an idiot, then and now. Hanz still has a career. They all had mercy on him. Many in the feild of Chess would give him a lifetime ban but he got away with cheating and still has a career. Chess would like to let Hans move on with his life, keep his career, but he keeps picking a fight that he will loose.
