When you get to the Ophir Pass sign at the top, there's a cool lake up those rocks behind the sign... it's hard to see the trail to the lake because it's all rocks. I hike up that road a couple times a year, great hike.

When weight isn't an issue, the combination of low-range 4WD and the low RPM torque of a 7.3 diesel is a *FORCE* to be reckoned with! Our 2000 F350 (8' bed, crew cab) has 320,000 miles and we can't imagine living without her. We've been towing a 33' 5th wheel for 6+ years now (our fulltime and offgrid house) but it only takes maybe 5 minutes to disconnect and go do some wheelin'. :)

Another great journey and your cinematography and framing of you shots is perfect. Please, do NOT apologize for no drone. That splash of green kayak against the blue sky and Blue against the orange and green below, chef’s kiss my friend. I’m glad you advised against the opposite direction. That must be why you only passed a dirt bike and an SUV going the opposite way, lol. And agree, there was one switchback on that other trail I felt like I needed a seatbelt too, lol.

When I rode with a friend on this trail, my knee went out and he was a newbie, we were on the talus slope. I had my head out and made sure he was away from edge. Kinda sketchy. Anyway, at bottom was a wreck that came to rest half way over. Anyway, Ron saw the glint of metal. "Beth, is that a wreck down there?" "Ron, there is a need to know and a right to know. You don't have either right now. Just keep it steady and straight. Low and slow buddy" He has never forgotten that. Love Colorado. But, in my TJ RUBI

txs for your posts. wish: (understanding that solo filming isn't easy), wish you'd show the actual hard parts (eg, in this video, you skipped the 180º switchback w-6ft off camber ledge - that's what would be interesting, and informational to know whether a given rig could make it).

I like your 4×4 and your home away from home . Mini home on the moving range. Have you ever considered going with a camper that has a traditional shape for aerodynamic and going down or up the 4×4 trails. I like your home away from home but for tight fit roads and trails the utility of having a camper shape rather than a house shape would help getting around the back roads . You're the expert so don't take my comment as being critical because I still think you have a cool rig.
@YahshuaLovesMe3 жыл бұрын
I could have taken that with my TR3 easy. Longas a boulder didn't hit me on the head... one couldhave, up waldo grade, had to pass a big one in my lane, big as your truck, that is when I decided maybe I should sell it, that was a mistake too...
