"Who knows how long that water was inside?" When I was little I saw a geode that had water inside. They carefully cut away a slice of the exterior to leave a window so you could see into it without releasing the water, which you could also see. It was way out of my price range, and I haven't seen anything like it since. But every time someone cracks a geode and water splashes out, my heart breaks.

@undyingUmbrage413

@@murrijuana2842 There's actually areas with permafrost where it's extremely illegal to dig because there are ancient corpses under the frost that could have some kind of new pathogen we wouldn't have the ability to fight off, because our immune system would have never seen anything like it before. Effectively, digging up a body like that could easily turn into a mass extinction event. So uncovering an ancient super virus is not out of the question! However, any pathogens would most likely die in a geode, especially viruses (who don't live for very long and can't reproduce without a host). Extremely ancient bacteria that could cause an unknown illness COULD be in there, but unless he ingests the ancient river water (or snorts it, or drops it in his eyes, or injects it into his bloodstream), he wouldn't get infected.
