To each there own but I’ve done the 7 day water fast two times. In my opinion, this content does not show the true benefit of fasting. In my experience, after day 2, the energy level increased and the hunger went away. It wasn’t that hard. In fact, after the 7th day, I almost felt guilty eating. Lost 11 lbs during the fast and none of my mass. 6’4 weighing in at 248lbs when started. As of this writing I’m currently at 237 lbs still lifting my max bench of 405 lbs. lost an inch and a half around my waist. I WILL FOREVER IMPLEMENT FASTING IN MY REGIMEN. @PorchSong11 ай бұрын
You do NOT need to buy electrolytes--make your own. When you drink water (and you will need to drink a lot to help flush your system), first use filtered water, add a good pinch of Himalayan salt, and also a decent pinch of No-Salt (potassium). I also add fresh squeezed lemon and lime (squeeze a half of each). I do a 72 hour plus fast every quarter. The electrolytes are essential to cell function, so it will help with your headaches, etc. as will keeping hydrated. I start the morning with black coffee, and then turn to my homemade electrolyte water the rest of the day. I even work out every day I'm fasting--nothing heavy. Day one always sucks as you break your eating habit and rhythm. Day two is really pretty easy and you get an energy boost. Day three is hard the first time you ever fast, but is not too bad once you know what to expect. Again, hydration (with the electrolytes) will help you out immensely. Also, as your body uses stored glycogen for fuel before it goes after your fat stores, you will shed a ton of water weight--as in 3-4 pounds of it as glycogen hold 3-4 times its weight in water and your body stores approx. a pound of glycogen. So, expect to gain that back once you start eating again. The best thing you can do after your extended fast is to eat your first meal lightly and then transition into a 16-18 hour intermittent fast moving forward. Your body adjusts and you simply are not hungry during your intermittent time. Make no mistake, your first extended fast is tough--way more mentally than physically, but the benefits are immediate and stunning. Other side effect is that you improve your discipline by holding on and not cheating. Last tip: Get rid of all your snack food, or put it somewhere with no easy access while you fast. Good luck!!

I still see my face and waist as “chubby” when compared to older photos, but hopefully I can take advantage of the lack of eating the job did for me. I admire the people in the Bible who grew closer to God during their fast, and I truly hope to do the same. Alright, update time. I let my hunger for food get the better of me & being at a buffet did not help. For 1 hour straight, the chefs came around with all sorts of meats and for 1 hour straight.. I said yes to every single one of them. I also had rocket salad, Chinese broccoli and beer bartered chips as sides, with chimichurri sauce & a glass of coke. I also had two big slices of haloumi & some chocolate fudge (Brigadeiro). Let’s just say, I could not walk afterwards. I really did over do it. They say don’t break with a big meal, the amount of food I had was easily the equivalent of 3 big meals minimum. Now, I did go home straight after, and as the pain in my stomach started to go I thought I would have a cup of digestive tea. The tea must’ve pushed the limit to how much I can store in my stomach because Instantly after I finished the tea, I threw up. I started the fast Tuesday 3pm, i was 68.6kg. Before I broke my fast Saturday 5pm, I was 66.2kg & weirdly enough, Sunday 11am (the morning after big buffet) I was 66.1kg. I’m not sure how, maybe has to do with the fact I threw up? In 98 hours of just water + electrolytes & only 1 serving of the chicken bone broth (it was disgusting so I just stuck to water) I lost 2.2kg. Do I personally think it’s worth it? I am on a low carb, low fat & high protein diet and have been losing weight at a slow pace for a while now. I would say on average, .2kg a day. Meaning the result of the 4 day fast was the equivalent of 11 days on my diet.. so yes It was worth it for me. I do highly recommend it but I would say, do not go as hard as I did to break fast. Would I do it again? Most definitely. Good luck boys! For those interested.. I am from Sydney, Australia 🇦🇺 I used Musashi Electrolytes (Watermelon flavour) - 2 servings of electrolytes in my water per day then just regular water if still thirsty. I used The chicken bone broth from The Stock Merchant (the closest nutrient stats I could find to Dana White’s chicken bone broth) - only had 1 serving anyway because I couldn’t handle the taste. ^ both products were bought at Woolworths. I have a different opinion, I am coming to the end of the same fasting in a couple of hours, and i believe that the problem here is the way you approach the fasting. Yes the first day is the worst with your body food cycles kicking in. But after the first day, second and third day were easier to managed, no more headaches and believe it or not so much focus and alertness. Another thing I noticed is that your expactions were not appropiate, and the way you ended your fasting says a lot more about those expectations. You started it without a goal and a process to follow the post fasting. In my case this time help me understand more about my body in general, and start new eating habits as well. This is my take from this fasting and yes I definitely recommended it for anyonw who wants to break old habits and start fresh new ones.

Had no idea Dana did this, I'm going onto day 4 myself now. Never fasted before, friend of a friend was talking about fasting on New Year's Eve. A few days seemed easy enough, day 2 wasn't but after it got easier. Just hadn't had anything since Wednesday. Take multi vitamins especially potassium when doing this, they won't break the fast but you won't feel like total shit either. Those palpitations and all that were probably from a combination of being low on salt (sea salt), potassium, and or electrolytes. We're just deficient in stuff. Lemon juice is also good to add to water. Can also have tea or coffee if that's your thing. Any time the hungry kicks in, drink water. Learned a lot myself about health and nutrition while doing this, it's deceptively simple. There are things aside from broth you can have that won't impact the fast. Also understand your body goes in ketosis if you do this so how you break the fast matters as well as how you go about eating after. During the fast your body is feeding on whatever fat we've got while also creating all new cells. Fascinating stuff. That sandwich at the end, probably undid all the pain you went through dude.

Bone broth breaks a fast this isnt fasting and breaks Ketosis. But using no sugar no carb Electrolytes is fine.

🌟✨I've lost over 200 pounds by water fasting. Not drinking bone broth, not drinking electrolytes, only water, and not exercising. If you're going to fast, you have to do it right, and this fast just wasn't it! But sure, advise people on what to do when you do something the wrong way, you didn't even do what the guy you were following suggested by waiting a full 24 hours before consuming bone broth. 😂😂😂💀💀💀 Anyone interested in learning how to fast the correct way, check out Dr. Alan Goldhamer interviews, Dr. Jason Fung interviews, Dr. Mindy Pelz interviews, Finally Fasting KZbin channel, or even A Healthy Alternative KZbin channel for a plethora of fasting information and tons of personal testimonials of people who've all lost hundreds of pounds all through water fasting! This video was... hilarious.✨🌟

great video! I would say next time, lower the carbs before you do a prolonged fast, it will put you in ketosis faster so you're not so hungry. Also breaking a fast with carbs and bread is not recommended which is prob why you crashed lol. Congrats on finishing tho!

Good job bro! I’m starting mine Monday Then take 2 days off then do another 86 hours. Then I will take 3 days off and repeat It’s very healthy and it locks in your metabolism to burn more fat when you eat to much, Just be near a bathroom

I did a 7 day water fast once.. Was hardest thing i ever did! I can say i have the same feelings towards having a greater appreciation for food once you put yourself through a long fast. Next 14 days!

Drinking that broth hurts your fast.. that why you're so hungry..

As someone who has done numerous full 7 day (168 hours) fasts, I can tell you that doing anything less than 100 hours is a waste of time. To get the full benefits of the fast, mainly autophagy you have to fast for a full 7 days. When you get past the first 3-4 days you're body starts the detox, all the headaches go away, you dont feel hungry, and you feel really energetic (when Dana mentioned feeling like a superhero)

90% of fasting is mind over matter. You have to be in the right mindset to do this. If you are going to be like him and just think about food all the time, then you will never get through this and have a bad outlook on fasting. I'm 48 hours into a 5 day and I feel just fine with just water, salt and black coffee. If you think you will have a hard time, you need to start off with an 18/6, then go to a 20/4, then a 24 hour, 48 hour, etc. Work your way into it.

The health benefits of fasting are the real reason to fast. Your fist time should be 48-72 hours because that is where your body begins to heal itself.

best feeling in the world is breaking these 72+ hour fasts

I'm no Dr. but that's not how you break a fast. You have to eat a light meal with lots of nutrients in it. Your body is looking for the "good stuff" when you come off a fast.

Your breaking your fast every time you drink the broth, also the electrolytes your drinking seem to have calories in it which is also breaking your fast. Try with just water and Celtic salt you’ll feel way better.

The lack of visible change before vs. after is due to you having a relatively high % of visceral fat (internal, surrounding the body's organs). The visceral fat is what you probably lost most of.

Fasting can definitely make you feel weak but fasting is more mental than anything and you really made it hard on yourself by thinking about food, smelling food, watching food video ect. That’s pure torture. All and all good job on finishing
