I DILATED My NOSE For 72 Hours

Mechanically dilating my nose for 3 days to jump start the nose breathing process. Will doing so help me naturally breath through my nose easier? What benefits will I experience by having my nose more opened? It was actually quite substantial!

I wear those breathe right strips every other night to get a good sleep. I noticed that wearing them daily is irritating my skin, but every other day is fine. I have to say that the first time i wore them it was like day and night, my breathing never felt that way and I could breathe x2-3 times better. I felt like i could smell more intensely as well just like you but that feeling went away in like 30mins. I recommend them to all my friends and family, the cost is a bit expensive for my country's average salary but a good night sleep is definitely worth it.

When I was young, like 6th grade, I read a book that described the protagonist with a strong jutting jaw. Being an insecure middle schooler, I'd purposefully stick it out and breathe through my nose. Later I learned that I had a pretty severe deviated septum, but because of the habits I formed with holding my face, it's mostly unnoticeable. Except with exercise. For that it's breathe in with nose, exhale with mouth. Adult me is a quiet nose breather with the strong jaw I always wanted, so I guess it worked out

Been a nose breather my entire life, and slightly asthmatic which didnt help. After 20 years in the Air Force, during my pre-retirement physical they told me I had a deviated septum my whole life and never knew. They gave me an operation to fix it and made slightly larger internal openings. Because I was in my 40's and had been breathing through my mouth my entire life, I still couldn't breathe through my new (breathable) nose unless I was thinking about it. Still working on full time nose breathing 10 years later.

so crazy that i found this video after what just happened to me yesterday, i have problems to sleep and yesterday morning wanted to play Warzone with some friends, usually when i don't have a good night of sleep i feel brain fogged and slow in general, that affected my reaction time and i was playing awful (I'm usually a kinda good player) that's when i saw some medical tape under my desk, i had read about these nose strips the other day and i improvised a nose strip using the tape, i immediately felt an increase in airflow, after around 5 minutes we started another match and it just felt different, my reaction time improved drastically i was faster and sharper and was feeling more energized in general now i don't know if this was just placebo or increasing the airflow to my nose actually improved my brain function. I'll buy some of these nose strips and try them for some time since i always have problems breathing through my nose when i lie down in bed at night.

I never found a decent solution that you could buy so i made my own. It looks like 2 coiled up springs connected together at the bottom and it just slips in both nostrils. Your body is better able to utilize O2 through the nose vs the mouth bc the nose humidifies and warms the O2, so it’s better/easier to absorb. That’s most likely why breathing through your nose while exercising/running, you felt you had more energy, because your body was getting higher quality/quantity O2 perfusion into the muscles!

I’m waiting for Hormozi to drop his own brand. You know it’s coming bc he wears them in almost all his video & thumbnails. He’s been planting the seed.

I bought a Nivage, they are half price on ebay from the manufacturer reconditioned. Using that once a day, making my own solution, plenty of info on that. I started using breath right strips at night they help alot, I noticed I started dreaming now. I use Xlear instead of afrin now, and I can breath great. I have a deviated septum that is not severe but enough to cause issues. I push on the inside of the septum to the opened side and that helps too. Oh I use Arm and Hammer saline rinse in between to get mucus out it does a great job. I can breath though both of my nostrils right now with no restrictions, mouth closed. No need to feel you will get dependent on the strips, plus your nose will not automatically close due to dangerous smells.

Breathe Right strips were really popular in the NHL in the early 2000s and then just seemed like they faded away.

Great video! Thoroughly enjoyed it! ~ BTW, I've been using Breath Right Nasal Strips for almost 30 years! Put a piece of Kleenex under the nasal strip to keep the middle portion from sticking to your nose and to prevent leaving creases in the skin over time! Also, WalMart EQUATE brand are the BEST and around $8 a box. They hold just as well as the brand name but peel off MUCH easier! Don't be afraid to use the product if it's blessing you! ~ Many Thanks! Kindest Regards, Katherine 😊

just FYI i think the more natural way to "increase your deep breathing" is to use good scents! its makes us want to breath more deeply and naturally helps :)

When me and my buddies go on ski trips or camping I always bring these and pass them out before bed to prevent everyone from snoring so we are well rested for the following day. However if it’s longer than a day or two trip I noticed acne where strip lies

Nasal breathing also has to do with tongue posture, try placing your tongue correctly and breathing through your nose will become easier in time. Look for videos on the subject of Orthotropics and mewing for more info

Wait do people not normally breathe with their nose almost exclusively? I have always breathed through my nose and am pretty confident that everyone I know does… now I’m going to ask them all haha!

Do conscious nose breathing and add mental work, imagine that you are dilating your nose internally. I know this sound crazy but we have internal muscles that we normally are not conscious about. If I had a trick to be more conscious about those internal muscles, move the base of the tongue to block and expand the flow of air passing in and out.

You should have tried the AirMax nose dilators. They only press on one side of the inner nose.

I live in the UK , but im actually Argentinian , I've always thought English people breath through their mouth a lot more than at home , i figured it had to do maybe with the language or accent (London).

16:17 Another aspect as to why people that advocate for one to Stack nose breathing with mewing, while focusing on having the tongue pressed against the pallet. Is because the slight pressure of the tongue articulates the bottom of one's nasal canal in such a way that it provides better oxygen uptake. Similar to how the Breathe Right strips structure the top of one's nasal canal. So, the mindful stacking of all the aspects of these techniques will be highly beneficial. Also, sorry.. another way to look at the importance of wearing the BRStrips at nighttime if one is having breathing issues while sleeping is, that while one is sleeping those breaths could arguably be said to be the most important. So that I wont ramble any further.. just simply ask me to explain why in a reply if anyone is interested!

Breathing with nose is best, even if you can't do it well, Co2 is needed to transport Oxygen, more Co2 resistance you have more Stamina you'll develop, not to mention it'll help VO2 max as well.

Hey sleep is very essential and might be better than steroids some fitness people say. So how about researching some sheets about sleep, how to boost your sleep effectiveness or boost regeneration.. what the best length for rem or deepsleep is.
