I played in two good Beatles soundalike bands and I had to play GH's parts and though this one was not one of my favorite Beatle tunes, I always enjoyed playing it. Harrison was ahead of his time, I don't give a crap what anyone else says. When you play what he played, especially in their earlier years, you realize just how tasteful his playing was. He knew just what to play and when to play it, which gave the Beatles their sound. Plus, he came up with it.....we just cover him. Can you imagine anything other than what he played in the solo for the song, "Something?" No. He wasn't a shredder, he wasn't an Eric Clapton or anyone else. He had his own style and he was perfect for their music.

The difference between the HiLo Tron pickups on the Tennessean on Beatles For Sale and Help! and the FilterTrons on the Country Gentleman on the earlier stuff astonishes me. It's so hard to get the crisp clarity on songs like this without using a Tennessean.

man i play tons of metal 24/7 and just get more frustrated with it because even with the distortion maxed out Im like burned-out totally. However, this kinda slow clean basic rhythm playing is very soothing indeed. I loved everything these 4 lads from queensville did and can't believe I had forgotten this tune? I'm gonna find more of these vids so I can just set back and soak up a little of it for the sake of my soul man.......

George knew the meaning of restraint better than any player I can thing of. He never overplayed, didn't mind points of silence. Most players would cram those places with notes. It's possible George was incapable of doing so. It that's the case, so be it, that turned out to be good news for us.

@AblyHouse5 жыл бұрын
That's an interesting one. It's basically the Jimi Hendrix Chord (D7#9) but I hear George playing an A on the bottom. So, it would be a D7#9/A ( 5x456x ) . Mixed with John's regular D major chord, it makes sense this chord isn't one he holds out. This much dissonance works best staccato
