Got a good recipe for AJ. Mix 50/50 Old Bay and Everglades Seasoning and dry rub the fish.Grill till it just starts to flake. Then slather with mayo and a small amount of mustard. Cook till the mayo disappears and it crisp a bit. I think you will like it. Just found the chanel and power watched them all. Love it, enjoy.

The fish camera view is awesome. Super stud of a snapper too! I’ve been fishing and spear fishing off Dauphin Island for 30 years and haven’t landed a snapper over 28 pounds. Love the videos, keep them coming.

Tip: If you want your pan-fried fish more blackened or seared / crispy, cook the steaks / fillets in smaller batches. When you throw all of them in at once, it quickly lowers the temperature of the pan too much. This makes the fish release more moisture & you end up steaming them instead of frying them. Try it next time & see what you think! 😉
@CaptCollier Жыл бұрын
Will do! I knew I messed up when I put that many on the pan at once. Also, I don’t think I had the pan hot enough either. Will definitely try that next time, thanks

AJs are excellent eating. In my experience in LA and TX waters, worms aren't an issue until they get up to around 60lbs.
@CaptCollier Жыл бұрын
I think it’s just a toss up if they have worms or not. Last couple we’ve caught haven’t had any in them but in years past I’ve caught barely legal Ajs slap full of them. Pretty crazy

I know its not the way to do it. But when you cut off the filet on the AJ it occured to me how funny it would be to batter it, fry it and serve it to someone unsuspecting under the guise of, hey come over for some fish and chips. The look on their face would be priceless. Hashtag do it for the gram lol.😂

I don't know if you already know this, but try an aluminum cage for the GoPro. It may not be 100%, but they help some with overheating.
@CaptCollier Жыл бұрын
I can’t with my 3rd person camera because I have to have the media mod connected to it for my external mic. Also, I’m shooting in 4k 60fps so I know that’s most of the problem. The quality is much better than the 1080
@Fishing4Reel Жыл бұрын
@@CaptCollier I understand. I have a media mod on my hero 9. I'm trying to figure out a way to come up with a fan or something too cool that sucker down. There's been a few times when I've wiped the screen down with a wet cloth. I have thought about trying to figure out some way to rig up aluminum foil for shading and a heatsink.
@Fishing4Reel Жыл бұрын
@@CaptCollier I just thought of this. How about a little cooler with a fan in it and ice in a bit of ducting blowing cold air over that mounted camera? Nothing is satisfying is rigging up your own solution to a problem.🌬️
@CaptCollier Жыл бұрын
@@Fishing4Reel Lol I’m sure it’d help but really the solution is to use an external battery pack. The battery is what’s causing the overheating.
@Fishing4Reel Жыл бұрын
@@CaptCollier So you have the media mod but you're not using an external power supply? I've used mine with an external mic in an external power supply and the internal battery removed. It's a little tweeky when it comes to when you turn it on and when the audio recording actually works or not with that battery removed. I tried it many different ways and I think with the internal battery removed the external mic doesn't work. You would pretty much have to use an external recording device not the camera. It's something I'm still trying to figure out.

Cold blooded fish have to eat 3 times as much to stay alive in warm water than cold water. They have to stay higher in the water column for the dissolved and have no choice but to eat more to satisfy their internal organs metabolism.
