Little tip don’t use power mode 1 on street any little bump you’ll be jerking the throttle or you’ll have sore wrists in half hour. Power mode 2 isn’t so bad. Have a max power mode set up but run it on power mode 2 until someone wants the smoke 💨. 3rd gear ends at about 135, 4th gear ends at 165mph, 5th 186mph and 6th well 192 is my max but she’s got a bit more to give if I had a long enough run lol

Congrats on the purchase. I had a 2001 R1 and then a 2004 R1 but got rid of my bike in 2013 because of wife and kids. Lately I've been dying to get back on 2 wheels and I'm stuck between a new R1, BMW R1300GS, or a Harley Davidson Breakout. I'm 43 and still remember the back and wrist pain on long rides lol.

I had a 2001 last of the carbs version, then got a 2004 first of the underseat version, kept that one until this year and couldn't see no reason to replace with newer ones as she was perfect but after 22 years on r1's I needed something more comfortable..I'm 57 .. So I I got a Mt10 ..love it !! Get a mt mate more practical than r1's..

Very nice. If someone didn't mention it, MOORE MAFIA just did a vid about 6mo ago on the '24 R1. Started with 160hp & 78ft lbs in stock form with intake and pipes type stuff. Yeah man, 160. When all was done with flashing/program, 189hp. ...send in your ECU.

Sexy bike! I had a 03 r1 I bought new. It was awesome. I had just got out of the army and bought it and did nothing but ride from march to September. 26,000 miles in 7 months. I destroyed it that Sept. I'm now in the depths of my mid life crisis, and seriously thinking about getting another R1. I have a dr650, tenere 700 and yz250. I'm craving some speed though. These new R1's must be crazy fast.

Congratulations. Once you get the rear fender sorted out, remove those rear pegs as well and get a rear seat cowl. That will tidy up the tail section, will look 👌 And finally, get a decat exhaust, these bikes are very heavily restricted, a decat exhaust will sound beautiful 😍 . These bikes sound like a gp bike with an after-market exhaust.

Loved every bit of that bike but eventually got bored of the power so I sold it and now Ive been saving and waiting for the right moment to buy an R1 which is my dream bike, while also trying to save to buy a house. Usually there will be a fuel gauge on the cluster. The R1’s don’t have a gauge, just a fuel light when low.
