Bee Gees, best group ever. Best harmonies ever, best songwriters ever. 100 top 10 hits globally. First album in the 60s, last 2001. Mo died in 2003 Robin 2012. Barry Gibb released a country duet tribute album in 2020. For the album he sang Bee Gees songs with Dolly Parton, Keith Urban, Olivia Newton John, Alison Krauss, Jason Isbell, Little Big Town, Sheryl Crow among others. Fantastic. He can still hit the high notes. He performed at the legendary Glastonbury Festival in 2017 on the legends stage. Even the security people were dancing along. Great stuff

No they weren't, equal maybe but better. Do some research before commenting and listen to both groups, remembering that only 8 years of the Beatles, not including solo records but again not including the brothers Gibbs solo output, you have just over 4 decades of Bee Gees records. Once you've listen to all that music you are entitled to comment and I have and still do listen to both bands and despite Barry's screeching the Bee Gees are the best. McCartney ran out of steam, Lennon was over-rated and Harrison was never in the big boys league. Don't get me wrong I loved the Beatles and all their solo work, even Ringos bless him! but the Gibbs were better.

One thing that I think a lot of the younger generations don’t really think about is that the Bee Gees had to be able to write the music for every single instrument in that orchestra for this particular song. Today people just use computers to create sound, but it has nowhere near the quality, the depth and breadth of this type of music. Stunning.

I am a 69-year-old, black female. This song was released one year after I married. It would have been played at our reception. A little background. Barry Gibb (lead singer) On September 1, 2024, he celebrated his 78th birthday, along with his 54th wedding anniversary with his wife Linda. They have 4 sons and one daughter who is the youngest. Also, 7 grandchildren. At the age of 18 months, he pulled a pot of hot tea from off of a table. His mom said he didn't speak for a long time (close to 2 years.) He was near death because there was no skin grafting back then and gangrene was beginning to set in. Barry said he has no memory of it happening, just the scars to prove it on his torso and arm. One of his sons, Michael, was said to be named after Michael Jackson. Barry did say that MJ was his son's Godfather. Robin (long hair - left) and Maurice (short hair - right) were fraternal twins. Maurice Gibb (December 22, 1949 - January 12, 2003) heart attack, while getting surgery for twisted intestines. Survived by his wife and 2 adult children. Robin Gibb (December 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012) doctors found out he had the same intestinal problems as Maurice. When they went in to fix it, they found cancer. He is survived by his wife and 4 adult children. Andy Gibb ** (March 5, 1958 - March 10, 1988) ** He was too young to sing with his brothers. He had his own successful career. He and Barry could have been identical twins. He had a bad heart. Andy is survived by one daughter. They wrote their own songs and wrote and produced songs for a lot of other artists. Barry didn't always sing in falsetto. They were asked if someone could sing falsetto on the song 'Nights on Broadway.' Barry volunteered, and the rest is history. Robin sings falsetto too. Nights On Broadway kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6GtaqyDjcyBrLMsi=jPTiDBrXXoMrlXdO. In this video, Barry was singing the lead, (he couldn't do the lead and falsetto at the part at the same time) and Maurice (black pants) sang the falsetto. On the studio album, Barry did the falsetto. On the other songs, Maurice brings the harmony. During a nine-month period, beginning in the Christmas season of 1977, seven songs written by the brothers held the No. 1 position on the US charts for 27 of 37 consecutive weeks: three of their own releases, two for brother Andy Gibb, the Yvonne Elliman single, 'If I Can't Have You' and the song "Grease", performed by Frankie Valli. On a side note, the first born is their sister, Lesley (Gibb) Evans. (January 12, 1945.) She can sing, but she did not want to be in the limelight. She lives a quiet life. However, when Robin left the group for 18 months, she substituted for him. He finally returned. She and Barry are the last two surviving members of the family. Maurice passed away on Lesley's 58th birthday. They were so popular that some radio stations had a 'Bee Gees free' weekend. NO requests for their songs. I saw in a video, where Robin said they could not read or write musical notes. They came up with the lyrics and melody, then worked with the musicians for putting the notes to the lyrics. There's so much to write about them. I recommend the following songs: (I know it's a lot. ) Staying Alive kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5DMq6l3l814rrssi=7p2Pbvfime9eHGc-&t=1 How Deep Is Your Love kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqHUop2LbNpoj8Usi=TJzrh9ns2v1rUvnH You Should Be Dancing (Andy is with them in this video: from the movie Saturday Night Fever) kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6bSY2x6hcuNaKcsi=XevU5_t8wV8gQCBS&t=1 Spirits Having Flown kzbin.info/www/bejne/jYild6Oletd3ea8si=3mpRsV0a-kfCMDWX (Our Love) Don't Throw It All Away (Andy Gibb) kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHPZpZV9l7Cdj6csi=nxChUw6mLu1xp0CR Bodyguard kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKmYiap_gKimadEsi=ZR3i-vkS0bTbUsMd You Win Again kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYu8aqKPiLidfKssi=tNkXzwYEE2uOUi1I Secret Love kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4fWloKJe7l6d9ksi=5DFjJ0rTH1_6GvEw For Whom the Bells Toll kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIXSqKyPe718i7ssi=kqPuP-VmVOO8dkca One kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4HCkmyOp62Nnacsi=5RF5M5H_P1aXflUQ

PURE TALENT - NO AUTOTUNE; NO SAMPLES; ONLY REAL INSTRUMENTS AND SINGING. Welcome to the world of the BeeGees and good music. The three brothers Barry (the older one in the middle) and the twins Robin (on Barry's right side) and Maurice (left side) changed the world of music and were "the founders of disco music" in the 1970s - they brought the soundtrack to the famous music and dance film "Saturday Night Fever". They wrote countless world songs for themselves and for other musicians and singers. Unfortunately Robin and Maurice have since passed away - R.I.P. - but Barry is holding on bravely; he is already over 70 years old, but still active. (Vita and Discography - wikipedia)
