Congratulations you madman. You made me enjoy Elden Ring one year ago, as I previously believed all that nonsense about the bosses having undodgeable attacks, not having punish windows etc. I have nothing else to add. "Hesitation is the feet" -Michael Zaki

Well, well, well, if it isn't Lorenzo :D I feel the same way. I always blamed the game and the developers for my failure in my first playthrough instead of using the tools the game gave me. Your videos were a harsh but all the more needed vibe check, and now I went into the game once more with a better mindset and I absolutely loved it. It's now one of my favorite games.

@@taha_bin_mehdi it's weird seeing you here. What do you mean by "your videos", anyways?
@HeyTarnished Жыл бұрын
Yo I remember your comments in the past you were saying that they were unfair & have unavoidable damage and all that, good to see you changed your mind because these bosses are the best in the series IMO.

@@HeyTarnished to me Sekiro's are better, but still very very good. After my first playthrough I just watched Joseph Anderson and all those who follow, and while I thought that video was super unwatchable because it was too long, badly edited, he never got to the point and always made examples instead of actually talking about the game (I do have a terrible attention span though), I forced myself to watch it and I was just left with the vague sentiment "bosses bad". It took me long to realize that knowledge in a video game, and to an extent in real life isn't divinely received when I constantly do something, but when I actually learn about something. 3 months ago I finished an ER playthrough where I did no heal on any major boss with a quality build and always the worst weapons, and I appreciate the bosses much more now (the whole thing also lasted for 3 months, I don't have much time to play video games really but I think that was my peak Elden Ring playthrough)

12:40 I think it's interesting that if you look at the utility of the "attack buttons" in Dark Souls, out of the original three games, it was actually DS2 that gave the greatest attack variety because like DS1 and unlike DS3, heavy R2 attacks matter, and it was the only one with power stancing L1 attacks. Meanwhile, Elden Ring has these but with better boss IQ and DS3 combat roll speed, plus shields have a dedicated damage related mechanic in guard counters. Elden Ring truly is a great successor to the Souls formula.

What a ride!!! Looking forward to your next project. This run actually inspired me to do the same some time ago (even though i had never done a challenge run of a souls game ever) and it was a blast learning most of these bosses, Mohg, Maliketh, Radagon, Morgott and Radahn are some of my favourites. it was so fun that i went and did the same for DS3...it was...also very enlightening💀. thinking about doing it for BB next.

The JA video didn't age well at all. I'd argue it was self-contradictory, ill-informed, and inane on release as well but certainly a year later most of it has been shown to be complete horse crap. The bosses have massive and consistant punish windows, they just arent as obvious and elongated as some of the older more primitive souls games.

Imo his video was putting words to what alot of veteran souls players felt. I'm honestly glad he made the video, because it got the conversation going and led to some really good dialogue and analysis of the bosses in this game that I think was good for the community overall

@@smitty215able Perhaps. But honestly, I feel like he, Demod, and Nasu just poisoned the well permanently since it gave all those individuals who were frustrated with the game, and didn't even bother finding good reasons WHY, a PLATFORM to even exist and congregate. And the same old critiques are rising up again with the DLC fights(which I honestly found more consistent than the base game tbh since a lot of them are less visually noisy such as Midra, Rellana, and even damn Putrescent Knight).
@thesnatcher36163 ай бұрын
Two month update. Funny how Nasu and Joseph (and demod to an extent)both went on to develop more nuanced opinions yet their OLD arguments are still being used by a myriad of smaller channels.

Better to run up to wave of gold or away depending on range but should try and stock to him or approach during a different long range attack to avoid it altogether. Ring you jump the hitbox is shifted slightly behind the animation, better to jump late than early. Keep him away from the arena wall as best you can. Serpentine the projectile rain otherwise they can hit the back of your foot while sprinting sometimes (although the dodge is slightly different for the different versions but it's not too demanding). Radagon on his hammer swing that splits into either hammer ground slam or that fast shotgun, just watch his left elbow, if he raises it to his chest it's shotgun if you see his hammer hanging behind his head it's hammer slam. Don't roll on his fast teleports, reaction roll the slow version with the audio cues that lands on top of you. You can tell if he can chain cast shotgun spray if he throws the 1st volley with his arm str8 out and then ends it with his hand against his chest, he can then chain cast it by flicking his arm back out if he wants. If he starts it from inside and his arm is outstretched he won't chain cast (honestly might be vice versa of what I said but pretty sure). Elden Stars obviously do the run around dodge or learn to posture break him out of it.

But ngl though Fromsoft should stop slapping boss hp bar and fogwall everywhere, those watchdog and cemetery shade from dungeon would be a great elite enemies if their hp got reduced a bit and increase enemies number to protect the lever. Not having boss inside every dungeon wouldn't be so bad if they use those elite enemies and made better dungeon level design with them.
