That's such a cool solution. Looks really good! Sadly I have an A6300 and it doesn't have a gyro sensor so the catalyst software doesn't work.

try it with gyro flow. use an action camera attached to your rig to capture gyro data

This is awesome. Can you fix the problem for just a small segment of a clip or does it apply the correction to the entire clip, including the parts that dont need it?

It will fix the entire clip but you can always keep the original as well and cut this one in for the parts that need to be replaced.

last tilem I tested the Catalyst, its soften the image. so is that still an issue, and is the Caltalyst converting from 10 bit to 8 bit, ?

I didn't see any major softening happening with the footage when I tested it. If there was any then it was super minor. And yea, most of the formats in Catalyst Browse will export your footage in 8 bit, except for "XAVC Intra" so make sure to choose that when exporting to keep your footage in 10 bit.

I believe so yea. The OSS has to be turned off as well, but it would be worth it to do a test with your lens just to make sure.

Should be ok, I use to keep it on my zve10 (standard stab from the OSS), the only files that didn’t have gyro data were the ones I was shooting with the extra stabilisation with a crop I just tried with new A7iv, the standard sensor stab contains the gyro data.

premier pro has rolling shutter fix it works really well i almost went with a Lumix s5 cuz almost zero rolling shutter but problem is continuous auto focus for videos with s5 sucks to be honest and sony is known for best focusing system and its fast cant fix auto focus issues i rather deal with rolling shutter cuz its an easy fix 99.9% of the time

It's my first camera and i think rolling shutter is terrible. I think about back to recording with my phone. Catalyst Browser is not fix. It's workaround only. Sometimes after session i have tens of short clips which i have to process one by one.

I agree. Rolling shutter should be top priority in all cameras, cheap and expensive. Sony has a real problem. They made the ze v10 and a7 iv useless for me

Horrible rolling shutter is the only problem that has withheld me from buying a7iv. I guess sony deliberately has RS issue here so as to not affect a7siii sales.

@@AlphaCentauri24 no it's just very difficult to downsample 7k to 4k on a non global shutter without introducing some rolling shutter. The rolling shutter in apsc mode is basically non existant for example (because it's not downsampling as much.) Every camera with a higher resolution than 4k sensor has rolling shutter.

You forgot to mention that using the free Catalyst version drops your color space from from 422 to 420. So, it throws away information. This is a terrible solution for people that color grade. I think a better solution, while not free, is an external standalone.

Whenever I import my videos to Catalyst Browser, i cant see any stabilization icon in my videos. Tried looking for solution but no luck. I use TTArtisan 50mm f1.2 Manual Lens.

The only reason I can think of is that it's possible that you were filming with internal IBIS on or Active Stabilization on. It has to to turned off in camera for this method to work. It is possible that it doesn't work with manual lenses but I honestly doubt it. Just make sure your IBIS is turned off completely.

@@AryanSehgal Ok, I think the problem is the lens. I turned off the IBIS and took a video using my TTArtisan manual lens and still the stabilization did not show up in Catalyst Browser. Then i tried the kit lens and the stabilization finally show up.

I think that's a good combination but if you think rolling shutter is bad then the Sony Full Frame cameras are your only option. I'm not familiar with the Indian market and I don't know what you can get for 1.1 lakh. But I think for Sony the A7iii is the cheapest 4k camera with decent rolling shutter performance.

I think i fixed the rolling shutter. I Use on 4k, the clear Image zoom. and the objects, on the Image are les bending.

Nice. Yea anytime you crop on the image the rolling shutter gets better because there's less information to process for the camera so it's faster at doing so. But you lose on some advance autofocus features like eye auto-focus.
