Great video u can see why the old timers left that pay dirt as it was not rich enough for them but today with a high banker its not too bad lucky your in Vic lol cheers Glenno. 👍😎

Exactly. It didn't take long for us to do that and it was a lot of fun. But for those guys slogging it out in the gold rush it's not worth ot.
@frankbyrd93452 жыл бұрын
I frequintly work tailings piles over 150 yrs old all over my region ( Northwest United States ) The old timers lost substantial amounts of very fine gold over the end of the sluice while catching courser gold in amounts that would stagger our minds today ( really rock our minds ) they lost practally all the gold smaller than 30-40 mesh It is why the much more meticulous Chinese miners could come in behind them and recover paying quantities of gold

I am not a subscriber of your channel , but see it come up and occasionally watch an episode ... This was one of your best . You have come a long ways as a miner and as a man . That super fine gold you are working is in a class all its own ... It is exactly the stuff I work with every day I work gold ... Actually , I am recovering gold down to 300 mesh ... There are rules and methods , very exacting . Modern materials and understanding of the dynamics involved is what makes paying recoveries possible . I work old high bench placers and occasionally old workings ( as you and your buddy did this episode ) I built my Highbanker and bought my finishing sluice , all the mats and got my methodology and understanding of dynamics largely from Doc's videos and trial and error ... Aussies of a long time ago figured out muddling and brought it to America where it was used here and there and then over about a hundred years was largely lost by us small hand miners . Keep working hard and keep studying methods old and new ... you are getting there !

I'm being inundated with similar comments and messages from America. I'll say this very clearly; Your media is pushing an agenda, almost 100% of the things they are saying are factually incorrect. For perspective, LA and New Yourk have harder lockdown laws than anywhere in Australia.

Currently no lockdowns and state borders are slowly reopening. In Victoria, from the 15th of December, the only places that we will be required to wear masks is at hospitals and on public transport.

@@VoGusProspecting Chris is absolutely right about sections of the US media are busy pushing their own agenda and half-truths at the expense of real facts and logical reasoning. Hi.Chris.I know this will make sense to you .Afreind of mine has the original HIlls bar Claim on the Fraser river in B.C. his test pans were showing mega fine gold but he was not getting good results highbanking.He was only getting 2-3 grams a day.I convinced him to clean out his mats every 1/2 hour instead of running for long periods.It paid off he is now averaging 18g a day.Even though the mats look good they get way to much black sand and fine garnet and the fine gold goes over top..It only takes a few minutes to Too wash out gold hog which we all use over here.Easy to rerun at the end of the dayThrew many different clean up systems.The trick is if you know you are getting gold.Do not waste time panning your clean outs.
