is a two person cult not just an abusive relationship
@amandamcroberts2 жыл бұрын
@@cosmosisrose well, it was an abusive relationship, but the reason I call it a two person cult is because it wasn’t just our relationship that was toxic. It was all based around a belief system/religion in which the other person was a higher authority. I was the follower and I had to believe and follow what they said about God. If not I was treated awful and had horrible things told me to. The other person took what certain people of faith were saying and twisted it to their own narrative to get control over me. Creating profound ideas out of a misunderstood exchange has often been my experience. The way the mom says “our son” and then “knew his mother [could speak to the dead]”, she talks as though she is not the mother herself, even though that’s clearly the context of what she’s saying? The daughter clarifying that Lynn is her mother and they were talking about her brother was actually necessary for me to comprehend what Lynn was even saying. It makes me think that Lynn’s consciousness no longer recognizes/associates with her relationships and probably even her life on the whole. Maybe some sort of dissociative state/disorder?

As someone who grew up in the SF Bay Area with a very crunchy family, this shit is stuff I grew up on. I find it hilarious and I think the only way to truly appreciate it is if you’re high, bc Idk wtf they’re saying half the time. But in all honesty, all the love to these people. They’re living their best lives and I hope they continue to have a chill, fun existence.

I’ve been up the entire night with insomnia, and somehow got snagged onto this crazy-train of Lynn and Jaime’s magical kingdom. I just binged 4 or 5 of their videos back to back and at this point I’m pretty sure that my cat wants me to roll a doobie with him. Or maybe it’s my houseplant.

love how the “poetic shakespeare quote” is literally just saying that shakespeare is using a type of writing often used for love poems.....for a love poem. what a shocker

I discovered them a few years ago while watching ASMR videos. The way they speak is very relaxing. I grew up in a real cult, and a lot of this weird shit felt familiar lol. This is certainly a mysteriously strange channel and I’m glad you found it and focused on it.

Holy shit thats so scary. Im so worried for the daughter. So many people are saying its most likely drugs and abuse, but, ngl, I'm far, far more worried that this is mental illness, brainwashing/indoctrination, and abuse. Im a survivor of childhood torture- a term clinically used to describe what happened in my childhood- and because of this, I developed DID [dissociative identity disorder, formerly known as multiple personality disorder] and DPDR [depersonialization-derealization disorder]. I have severe PTSD. And, on top of that, I also have schizophrenia. The combination of these disorders/their symptoms, years of substance abuse, the torture itself, etc. created some very.. unique behaviors and mannerisms. If you watch the daughter, its nearly impossible to miss her detachment and dissociation- which could be anything from illness, drugs, hypnotism, or even just deep meditation- but what gets me most is her rigidity, flat affect, the fact that she seems to only register the things around her when her mother has spoken (which prompts an IMMEDIATE reaction of validation from the daughter, even when shes being degraded or scolded- almost like a conditioned response), the repetition of words and phrases.. schizophrenia especially could cause some of these on its own, but combined with dissociation in any form, mental manipulation, and abuse, it could make for some really odd stuff. Her posture and movements are so rigid and repetitive that, despite the movement, its almost catatonic in nature. Im almost entirely convinced that her mother told her how to move and had she not, the girl would likely be still. If you watch the difference in their body language its creepy as hell- the mother takes breaks, sits back for a minute, changes her movements, has a little more "flow".. the daughter, though, seems to only repeat the same sort of choppy movements without break, just some slight hesitation here and there. Its mechanic. Had there been any brainwashing or conditioning, the responses would make a lot of sense. Sometimes during episodes a person may not be responsive or able to pay attention or show that theyre comprehending a situation, sometimes a person can, sometimes theyre nonsensical.. but if a person has been conditioned to respond to another person/situation specifically, this is about what that would look like. She seems programmed, if you ask me. Not saying it certainly is psychosis, just saying it seems likely. Especially if theres a son that isnt involved.. this is definitely cultish and the mother certainly seems abusive. The most likely scenario for one sibling staying in and one getting out? The one that stayed was easier to control for some reason or another. Also the daughter speaking about her brother and saying "the son of this one, the mother of that one".. classic sign that she's dissociated from herself and the people and world around her. I feel like she probably needs some sort of help. Something is definitely wrong here. Whether its mental illness or drugs or brainwashing or indoctrination.. something is very wrong.
