Fun fact! Crete was actually home to dwarf animals during the Pleistocene, like dwarf mammoths, dwarf elephants, and dwarf hippos. On the flip side, there were also giant owls. Ice age Crete was weird.

The Abbasids likely took so long to split because the new struggle in Persia disallows Dissolution Wars on the Abbasid Empire. Claimant factions are easier though, so it is simultaneously very difficult to destroy and very easy to destabilize. I’d guess the reason it eventually split is that it was no longer controlled by the Abbasids.

Yeah LoP did not improve the gameplay in my opinion. It made it worse. The AI cant handle the systems for shit… and as a player its only fun when you play in a specific region and faith and culture. It feels a bit useless. I was hoping it would also effect islam in the region more. Maybe some late game changes? Il khanate? Seljuks? Nothing… they are the ‘legacy’ empires of persia… not the zoroastrians, which the dlc almost completly focusses on for some weird reason

@@HansWurst1569 The "weird reason" is that zoroastrism was the original religion of the region and its older realms pre-islamism, and the whole dlc is all about the region's unique identidy and what to do about the arabian calif influence. But yeah, they may have gone too ham in that direction

I made a cornish-greek culture as the king of Crete. I joined the Byzantines, soon I become an emperor, my brothers inherited the other kingdoms. After three holy wars, and a successful crusade for Jerusalem, the Abbasid empire collapsed. After some conquering, only Rome left from the required areas. And that is how I restored the Roman Empire.

Well it is small kingdom but technically you can make even smaller. You can make a Kingdom of Mann and islands with just a duchy of Mann and it is just one province island. But in the end great video, much love.

You can take crete cyprus and venice then take a bunch of random duchies to get to the empire size requirement and as long as you dont hold any other kingdom titles you can create a very small empire title. Only held kindoms are included in the empire's de jure land. Grant the excess lands and give them independence. Bada bing bada boom tiny little Mediterranean empire.

While technically Crete is the Smallest pre-made kingdom you can get in ck3, it is not the smallest you can make. By conquering 30 counties and only holding the complete duchy of either Visby or Istria you can make a 1 county kingdom. Its quite fun actually, especially in Visby where you have a unique building and a good spot to raid from.
