That and his soldiers chased after the maybe actually fleeing Normans, contrary to his orders, breaking up their formation, which was their only good defense against the Norman Cavalry, who subsequently tore them to shreds. Godwinson was killed in the confusion, allegedly by said arrow to the eye

Harold after defeating Haadrada basically ran his army south in only like 3 days maybe less if I remember correctly, from what I learned from history if he had stopped to rest in London his troops would of most likely recovered fatigue and possible gained reinforcements against William and his struggling supply chain. That and He let his men charge down a hill and break their own shield wall 2 times over in a defensive battle

Very cool finally getting this as someone who loves and focuses the Anglo Saxon period :^D, personally I wish Harold Godwinson had succeeded given how much the Norman conquest destroyed of the culture, how it changed the language and their introduction of serfdom and later dragging us into the 100 years war. Edit: very ironic them sieging Constantinople given that after the norman conquest many anglo saxons left for Constantinople and the varangians became known as the anglo varangian guard as depicted in the Jatvadr saga (to my understanding not a copy of it yet but there is not english translation of it I have been able to find lol)

Hi Koifish, great stuff as usual. I think this is pretty much perfect as it is. But I have two ideas for you. Stay in England, but play either as William Marshal (and be perfect knight and protector of the Plantagenet kings) or as Simon de Montfort (crush Henry III and establish parliamentary monarchy). In either case, the challenge would be to be the power behind the throne. Ultimately, I leave it to the people in the comments to either upvote this or ignore it.

You should have colonized Crimea because the anglo-Saxon’s actually had colonies there. Paradox even included this in the game because the kingdom title there will be called New England if an Anglo-Saxon rules it.
