Jen got banned from a hematology practice! They saw something she said and sent her a certified letter saying she’s no longer allowed to be a patient there. This episode is a wild ride that includes that, as well as:
-- Jen breaking down in tears
-- Why atheists are closer to God than they think
-- A disastrous trip to the symphony

Yet… they had time to write and mail you a letter but no time to give you a call? 🤔

They seem to get that everything is immediate (“terminated…effective immediately” and “immediately make arrangements”) except for returning your calls and booking an appointment. Unbelievable 😂.

I don’t think they can terminate you when they can’t even be bothered to return your call and establish you as a patient. Seems a bit premature on their part.

Honestly, if this scheduling craziness continues I would try to get the ER to admit you for the DVT and then you could be seen inpatient. It is obviously the most expensive and difficult way to see a specialist but if you tell the ER doctor the situation they might do it.

Jen, praying for you! I've never seen you cry or get emotional before, and I legit started crying, too. I lost my mom 2 years ago and we lost both my husband's parents last year within 9 months of each other. I'm worried about you!!! I'm definitely not ready to take up your cause for canonization in case this goes south, but like, obviously I got you if that happens 😆 what are we going with- patron saint of those with enemies? patron saint of Pimms and Squirt, patron saint of mead, patron saint of dramatic Kibbe body types? There's just so many directions we could take this. Anyways, seriously praying, and hoping you get seen soon. Keep us posted!

I am so sorry that they responded in this way instead of hearing about your struggles and realizing they should do better. I felt certain that if they knew someone was struggling in this way, they would be appalled at the failure of their system to help people who needed them. I hope you find someone who does feel that way and who wants to help!! I am frequently having to make phone calls to doctors and medical systems for one of my children, and I have felt so grateful to hear your story and realize I am not alone in my frustrations and the crazy brick walls we sometimes run into. I am so sorry you are facing this though!! My prayers are with you 🙏

Oh Jen, I'm so sorry. This practice is appalling. I hope you are going to make a massive high profile fuss about how they have treated you because it sounds to me as if it's pretty shameful. It was perfectly obvious that you were joking about threatening violence (I don't even remember you doing so) but the cruelty with which they have treated you is shocking. Sending love and prayers.

Worse than cruelty. Listen to the representative of the practice. It's smug apathy. These people should never be allowed near a customer service position, let alone one that can seriously affect someone's life.

Your rant at the end really hit home. I’ll never forget the time I was invited to a symphony performance for pregnant women (Koreans are into this thing called “taegyo” where you listen to classical music during pregnancy to help your baby grow better), but was told no children allowed. So, to clarify: children in womb welcome. Children outside womb not welcome. And thus, mothers with more than one child also not welcome. And they wonder why the birth rate is going down!

I totally relate to your being banned by a Hematology Practice. I was “fired” by my Ob/Gyn for not scheduling a follow-up appointment which I would have done eventually. They sent me a “nastygram” through the mail. 🤨

Jokes are jokes and your attitude is wonderful, but the medical establishment tries so hard to keep up with all the laws that they end up being neglectful and not providing proper, humane care to patients. I pray you get proper medical care ASAP. God is on your side.

I have observed that people are much closer to God than they realize or are willing to admit. I watch for the fruits of the Holy Spirit (i.e., charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, self-control, chastity.) Whenever I see one or more of these fruits expressed in a person's life, I am reminded of how God is actively working in them, even if they don't acknowledge God's existence or have an awareness of God's presence.

The erudite Anglican Protestant is usually with the declining birth rate. So many things to do unless the power's out. When they spend all their time having the intellectual conversations and getting distanced from each other because of their ideas, they have no desire to complicate things with the baby.

The "Catholic Ghetto" existed in the late 1800s and early 1900s in the United States. It was used to identify clusters of Catholic immigrants living in homogeneous communities, usually within larger cities. Generally, these areas were the targets of bigoted attacks by the broader/majority WASP culture in the USA.

If it was a joke kindly ignore my info/comment. Just know that in communistic countries were childern having specially organized mandatory symphonic plus other classical music and theater programs since the first year of primary school. Therefore they were trained for the up-tight events with adults. More importantly parents would know if their childern like such events or not. I think you might just meet some smugs on all fronts of your life recently. Do not give up on classic or hematologists. Get well.

Elections have consequences. Ever since Obama care, getting an appointment is now a 1-3 month ordeal. I used to get an appointment in 1-2 weeks max. I used to be able to walk into the eyeglasses doctor and get an exam on the spot, maybe a day or two. Now it's a month to get an eye exam. Just keep voting for the Marxists... I'm sure it'll get better .. someday.
