Losing my job as a chef during the pandemic (the restaurant I worked for shut down) allowed me to go full bore on youtube for a year, using my savings. It worked out :)

Former ArtCenter student here! It's really common to get alot of people who suddenly want to switch from a completely different fields wanting to pursue their creative passions. I've met people who were mathmeticians, electrical engineers, and even a med student from John Hopkins that came to ArtCenter! But I love how transparent this episode was from both eric and chloe! And good luck at ArtCenter Chloe !!

@@chloeshih you mentioned that you were taking typography classes which is awesome! If i remember correctly that falls under graphic design, but there are also motion design classes which would be really helpful in making cool motion graphics for your youtube intros and I remember that also falls under graphic design I think and illustration has a track thats for motion design! I don't want to overwhelm you with too many classes but I think that's a good start!

@@itsjokiimm you know what that's a fantastic idea. I'll keep that in mind. also are there any particular instructors/professors you highly recommend? i think i've mostly been following professors/instructors vs the actual topic/class haha.

@@chloeshih its hard to say because I wasn't part of the motion design track in illustration! ( i was in entertainment arts) and if you'd like to talk a little more indepth about class recommendations we can do that too!

It’s so so so beautiful and validating to listen to both of you!!! Just finished watching the entire video, and some parts really had me tear up, because of how honest, transparent, and thoughtful the answers and chain of thoughts were. I just don't understand the hate. Like ehh?? Anyone with a heart and soul can just automatically see that Chloe is just...a unicorn. What a kind soul, what a graceful person - I love her content. It's all original, creative, she obvs works insaaaanely hard and is an asian girl boss. What a KWEEN.

I love this duo! There are so much humor and candid conversations about being a creator in the YT space. I also love the description of "being a cute bear 🧸🎀 but will kill you 🔪." 😂 Listening to Chloe talk about her relationships, I agree that it's crucial to seek kindness and, most importantly, emotional maturity in a partner.
