The easiest way I learned to get rid of the seeds is to get some cold water put it in a jar put the dragon fruit in the jar shake vigorously and then use a strainer and now you have a drink and you have your seeds. If you want you can press any chunks that are remaining through the screen and still enjoy the lovely taste.

Basically that's what I've done. Squash the flesh. Put it in a jar. Let it sit overnight. The free seeds are on the bottom. Those in the flesh can be separated. The flesh floats and can be poured or scoooed out. I added a 1/4 tablespoon spoon of vitamin C powder and drank it.🎉

I admire your dedication…I’m also a self taught horticulturalist(sorta) starting at the very bottom- I killed all my air plants, which is nearly impossible. Now I’ve gone from a small raised garden to apple, peach, blueberries, magnolia, living stones, etc. I just started the growing from seed journey after I found sprouted seeds in a Granny Smith! I did some research and that’s kinda rare, so I took it as a sign I needed more apple trees and these babies needed a mother! Hopefully I will have some luck, but your video definitely inspired me to keep trying even if I don’t!

Dragons are so fun to grow! They are really great indoor plants. But fun tip: They are tropical cacti and therefore out of my own growing experience can deal with a bit of wet soil pretty well. They are pretty nutrient hungry though. If you would like to try another pretty difficult plant to grow I can only warmly warmly recommend passion fruit or it's sweeter brother the granadilla, wich I prefer over regular passion fruit😊

Why did you not slice the dragon fruits in slices, maybe, than you could have grown more? My dad put a few thin slices on wet kitchen swipes an let them grow at first there. And than, when they started to grow, he put them in soil. He had many tiny dragon fruit plants. They grow a few cm ( maybe 10 cm) and what then happened, I don't know. This is more than ten years ago.

These grow in sandy, rocky soil with good drainage. That soil is way too moist for any cactus. Their roots are very vulnerable to rot. At least half of the substrate should be mineral. Pumice, granite, perlite, lava rock, coarse sand (not fine sand! It will kill it), etc. The reason why so many of your seedlings died is because you used a soil that retains too much moisture and is too rich. Cactus seedlings are extremely vulnerable and need a proper growing medium. Older plants can deal with subpar soils, but the young ones not so much.
