Thanks for recapping the effects. One thing diminished is higher order thinking, memory, and pattern recognition. Life is fuller with a clear mind.

I never had a problem with alcohol, but pretty much everything in my life has been better since I quit it two years ago. Sleep better. Workouts are better. Eat better. Congrats on your realization.

I just found your first one 100 days...then you gave up after 18 months. I'd tried moderation too but that was terrible. I'm currently on day 13. I'm 75 years old so this is one and only chance for me.

Its mad when you stop drinking you start to see just how much our society bangs on about it. Its a harmful drug. Crazy really. In fairness some people do have as much fun sober, some people don't have as much fun. I think it depends on a few factors like being introverted vs extraverted and whether you've sold yourself - or been sold - a story which says you can only have the most fun with alcohol in your system. Good on you Steve, wishing you good health along the journey.

good for you. i have about 2 drinks a year. i have migraines and alcohol is a trigger so it’s just not worth it for me. i am always asked about why i don’t drink so i always ask them why do they?

Steve, do you feel like whoop and eight sleep have influenced this? I ask because it really influences my decisions. Like if I drink this, I know I’m not getting a 100 sleep score. 🤣

Yes! I bloody hate those red recovery scores. They really highlight how it impacts the body.

Hey, I know you don't know me, but I've been down that road. AA meetings will tell you "Once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic," and I think it's true.
