Hey my friends!! I have a dedicated video on how I increased my metabolism to go from 1,500 to around 2,800 calories for maintenance called How I Get Lean on 2,500+ Calories. I hope this video shows how different I felt when I would undereat and how much change is possible 🌟❤️ I’ll be back to my usual energetic self next video!! Lots of love xxx

So when you were eating 1,500 you were still thin right? How about before that? I've been eating 1,300 or less a day and dropping not even a pound a week. Granted if I work out I account for that and eat more to still end up at the same amount with the deficit. My boyfriend instead eats whatever he wants (similarly to you) and doesn't gain. At this point I just chalk it up to mainly genetics. You must have always been a thin kid and not struggled much with weight (please correct me if I'm wrong)? Then as you upped your work out and muscle mass you could increase your eating exponentially. Therefore, for people with a genetically low metabolism they will never be able to eat like you even if they work out as much. I let myself eat around 2000 for about a month because I was on vacation and I gained a whopping 6kg (while being more active than usually at home). I'm just frustrated cause I wish I could be like you, but at the end of the day if I think it's possible I just become frustrated with how my body works. Which ends up pretty depressing while watching you eat a lovely 2,500 cals a day. Would appreciate hearing your opinion.

I do that. I often don't eat the whole banana bc it's too sweet and I just don't like bananas as much. I eat it for the potassium and the convenience. I'd normally go for the mini bananas if I can. As for it going bad. I'd put the other half in the fridge and eat it later in the day or I'd share it with a friend. If it goes too brown = sweeter I'd make a smoothie if it with other veggies! It's possible We're all so different

Gosh, same here. I have just been like 5 days eating more and training with weights and for real, I've lost about 0.5 kg (1.1 lbs) and I am more toned too!! I've been doing legs, glutes, abs and waist excercise with two weights of 1,5 kg each one, and de difference is shocking. I think thanks to this girl I've been able to open my mind and let go my ED, feeling happier with myself and with the people around me, who were worried about my health and my emotion changes(I was usually upset and irritable, and I felt like trash and exahusted) Now I have more energy and I can do better my workout routines, and they are more effective. I just hope girls that you don't be affraid of increase your food intake, always being in a healthy and balanced way, or using free weights in your training, because believe me that's what really matters. Fistly, maybe if you weight yourself you'll notice a little gain of weigth, but that's liquid retencion and in two days you'll lose it. Yeaterday I eat meatballs and french potatoes cooked by my mother...that has would been impossible a week ago and probably the fault would break me down...but even eating that and being affraid of a gaun weigth today I've weigthed myself and as I said before I have lost 1,1 lbs...just in 5 days, so imagine how it will be in several weeks. Greetings and strong support for all. Thanks Natacha for open my mind.

When I first started trying to lose weight, I started tracking cals and was only eating around 1,100 a day, sometimes less and I still felt like I was eating too much because I wasn’t seeing results on the scale. Thank god I realized that it was because my body was not adjusting well to that change at all!! It was completely shutting down, I was tired all the time, killing myself in the gym, performing poorly at school and just hurting myself overall:( I’m so glad you made this to show that the amount of calories you eat really does not matter! You need to eat until you are satisfied and use food as fuel! I really love this!

One thing I absolutely loved about this video was that you didn't fall into that trap of mentioning weight loss/physique change over the course of the week of restrictive eating, which is something that could have been triggering/problematic if you had done so. You kept the focus on how you felt and how you felt you were fuelled for activities, which is the most important thing here. I feel it's a hard leap for many girls in particular to get from thinking of calories as things that make one fat to thinking of calories as units of energy that FUEL the body (including the brain) through life. Speaking from experience, it is even harder for those of us who have been through eating disorders to make this mental transition from calories= fat to calories= fuel for life, and so I appreciate someone else who has clearly made this journey themselves not only encouraging others to do the same, but putting so much of her time and energy into doing so. You are always very responsible in the way you deliver information on health and fitness and that is so admirable. As a medical student I appreciate watching videos that are grounded in science, and I feel it's so refreshing to see someone talk about fitness and health who really knows what they are talking about from a scientific and medical point of view, and mentions sources, real science, and medicine. Everything is always bang on accurate, and you take the time to explain it to your audience to make it accessible. Just amazing!

hey lovely ❤️ thank you 😊 i agree and i also really think that the actual implications of eating like this on physical appearance (health aside) is quite detrimental over a period longer than a week and I wanted to make that point without confusing it at all with anything short term. I agree. It is bizarre how even a girl (like me) who says "I could NEVER be anorexic I don't even care that much about my appearance I just want to lose some fat" can quickly go down the rabbit hole of calories are evil, food is evil, stop eating so much, you'll be fat forever if you enjoy eating food too much, etc etc. So scary. Glad videos like natacha's exist!

Sorry but i disagree I have bone damage from obesity. I had sky high body fat and I wasn't even able to wear clothes in the uk. My days being overweight are over. You track your weight and your body fat this is why I am a size 16 in River island and 14 in others. Do this above. You could become fat second track your body fat. I weigh myself daily and no weight gained. It isn't nice having to change your wardrobe yet again. Bad for the heart, Im happy eating 1400 calories and training. This is to lose weight of course.

Letswinwin _ I don’t know u personally of course, but I think you should probably eat more to feel your body and so you have enough energy throughout the day because that is a dangerously low amount of calories and you should eat more if you can. It’s a journey to get there but keep trying and don’t give up good luck

Letswinwin _ that’s not healthy at all, that very restrictive and you probably have or are getting an Eating disorder. Please slowly increase your calories intake it, making it so low will only drain and kill you. You won’t lose any actual weight, so it much better to eat more.

I’m on a journey of increasing my calories! I had an eating disorder and would refuse to eat, and when I “stopped” I would still only eat 500 calories, and then 800, and then 1000 was my maximum for around a year until I went to a personal trainer and he’s upped my calories to 1500, I get so full so quickly but i feel great eating more! I’m excited for the future of increasing my fitness and metabolism and being able to eat more to fuel my days! I love watching these videos they are so inspiring, thank you!! 🙏🏼

Natacha, I couldn't be more thankful that I have found your videos. Since watching your videos I have increased my food intake because I had the worst cravings and would binge and ruin all the 'hard' dieting I had been doing. I'm a pretty active person and so your videos emphasising how important fuelling your body is has really made a huge difference to my training/eating habits and also my body composition as well. Thank you so much. You also seem so bloody lovely too which makes me love you channel even more!!!

Natacha this is an incredible video and truly empowering to everyone with an ED/extreme dieting. I would love to see you do a vegan/plant based for a week challenge! Please consider it. We get plenty of calories via whole plant foods that are 90% carbs & truly filling. You could even try some meat/dairy alternative products throughout the week & report back. You wouldn't be depriving yourself of anything and it'd be an interesting experient to see. I mean, it can't be worse than keeping your calories to 1.5k for a week ;)

I dispise the vegan community with their idiotic religious like believe of what actually is a luxury lifestyle choice .... I've recently found your channel and absolutely love what you're about and how you train!! You are CRAZY inspiring, I really love watching all of these videos and love how you focus on happiness and performance rather than looks. I've always dealt with serious body image issues, and have always loved working out but for all the wrong reasons. I've realized that I've spent the last ...7 (!?!?!) years not treating my body that great, and now gaining all of this knowledge from your channel, I'm slowly starting to focus on eating more and working on performance. I know increasing calories takes a long time (I'm currently at 1800 and working out 5-6 days a week because I'm just having so much fun) but I know I should eat more. ANYWAYS - you're amazing, and thanks for posting such great videos. :)

For diet sodas, 0 cal is 0 cal. But some people start craving actual sugar/carbs because of a small insulin spike caused by the few calories in the soda - but have no sugar to collect. So some people might feel hungrier after the diet soda, thus consuming more = gaining weight. The diet soda (if we assume it’s 0 cal) doesn’t cause weight gain on its own, but might make you hungrier. Then again, the insulin spike doesn’t happen to everyone, we all react differently. As for how healthy: less unhealthy than regular soda, due to less/no sugar. But there is some research going on, looking into how “fake sugars” affects the gut bacteria. So far, not looking good. As for how safe regular and diet Soda is: not for your teeth. The low pH in all carbonated drinks discolors and breaks down the enamel. So even that “zero cal, lime flavored, mineral containing carbonated water” is bad.

Thank you so much for being one of the few ‘fitness’ people on social media to show that more calories are good! 2 years ago I was diagnosed with anorexia with a bmi of 14 because I went of the ‘normal’ fitness person recommendation of 1800 calories a day! It was obviously way too low and I suffered all the symptoms of tiredness, irritability, fear of food etc.Obviously I had a severe eating disorder at the time and now I am so much better I try not to track calories but I have way more energy and it’s peopel like you who have helped me realise that more calories does NOT equal gaining weight! Hey Freya ❤️ I'm so sorry to hear that sweetie, I know the difficulty and pain it causes to go through. I am so so happy for you and proud of you for the way you've moved away from tracking and giving yourself more energy ❤️ what you said is so amazing, the only thing I would say is that I totally agree with the eating more not being a bad thing, but even though it sounds counterintuitive, body weight and fat are separate and the scales are so deceiving. the ultimate recommendation I have is to slowly leave them if you can as they are super distracting. How did you get up to a high calorie intake without gaining weight at first?

Natacha, this is why I like you, and relate to you so much. You really inspire me! I am trying to follow your path, coming from a background of restrictive eating and obsessive cardio (disguised as a running obsession, how original!) Now trying to increase my caloric intake, overall athletic performance and just happiness really! This was hard to watch because it wasn't that long ago for me that 1500kcal would have been 3-4 days worth of food... But I am finally at a point where I see how inefficient and just crazy that is. Thanks for all the great work you do and for speaking about something that is so important. Big hugs! x

Hey Sophie ❤️ I feel you girl I know how hard it is! I had that kind of running obsession too, mine was hidden somewhere in the iron man training I think. I’m so so happy for you and what you described! I’m so proud of you and how you’re thinking about everything, it is so not easy to do but you sound like you’ve really made a huge change ❤️😘

It's probably a good thing you didn't go to the movies. I always have to avoid going to the movies when I'm cutting because the smell of popcorn that I can't eat is like torture!
