THERE WAS A WALL ORIGINALLY BUT OUR CUSTOMER HATED IT SO AFTER SEEING US ON KZbin MADE CONTACT AND ASKED US TO BUILD THE REPLACEMENT WALLS .
WE DO RUNNING IN USING A BLAKES PROFILE , WE BUILD IN A SMALL DIAMOND AND PUT ON BRICK ON EDGE IN BLUE ENGINEERING BRICKS . WE ALSO BUILD 2 NEW PILLARS WITH PIER CAPS ON TOP ....ENJOY

Nice clean work! Question though! When we had UK Bricky's come over to North America in the 70's they always arrived to the site dressed nicely white shirt and tie! Then they put on coveralls for the work day! Again after work returned back to shirt and tie. My question is where is your white shirt and tie?

You can tell that was nice quality brick by the ringing. Nice work...you guys knocked those walls out really fast. Good to see Alex back at it with you. Looked like a really nice couple of days. Do you prefer frogged or perforated bricks and how do you like concrete facing bricks? They don't seem to be popular but are so much stronger and less porous than clay. Can't cut them with a trowel though need a water cut off saw ideally but can choose them in literally any colour. Marshalls is the supplier.

Lovely job again Steve and Alex. I'm the dreaded developer and some of the house builds we've done in the past has resulted in brickwork mortar joints drying too white despite carefully gauging cement content etc.. It's very unsightly - I wondered whether it's substandard quality building sand that's supplied these days or possibly the cement at fault - certainly we never had this problem 30/40 years ago. What do you do to combat this problem! Many thanks and regards. Phil

There are so many factors Ive found , even the cement changing colour . Damp bricks , but mainly the building sand changing . I suppose they are natural products so out of control really 😕🧱🤙🏾

Nice one, not seen that trick with the trench block before mind you never seen a trench block before we don't use them around our way. I don't get the wall tie on the Fitzbrick, where the line goes on them is already set back 2.5mm to accommodate the line.

The owner of the house was a bit dumb to build a wall seperating his land from the next door neighbour. As a result of this wall, he will not be able to be able to open the door of the car into the neighbours garden when getting in and out of his car. Also swinging the car in and out of his drive, especially reversing is more restricted.

Why would it be that most bricks I've seen from the UK have holes or dimples in them whereas ours (Netherlands) are solid? Both types seem to work just fine, but I was just wondering.

I think it’s all down to cost , bigger holes less clay . Some of the holes are getting ridiculous now .🙄🕳🕳🕳🕳🕳🧱👍🏽

@@SteveAndAlexBuild At least you still have 90 or 100mm wide bricks in the UK. Ours (New Zealand) are all 70mm wide. The manufacturers made that change back in the early 1990s. The big difference here, though, is that houses are wood or steel framed, and the bricks are only on the outside, not the structure of the building.
