I understood a lot when I realized that my father never had told me that he was proud of me. I confronted him and he told me that I indeed had disappointed him. I realized that up until this point I was only drawn to mentor figures that I tried to make proud of me. The day my dad told me I was a disappointment, because I didn't go to the right business school of all causes, I started to make MYSELF proud. And guess what, few years later, out of the blue, my father told me that he was proud of me. He passed away shortly after. So you're right, it's important to become aware of our childhood insecurities otherwise you can't overcome them. Sorry for my English, I'm French so it's not my first language.

Wow! Having found Steve's 1st and 2nd podcasts has been an absolute blessing. Hearing his story has been incredible. Seeing and watching his later podcasts have shown and demonstrated the transformation. Fair play! thank-you for sharing, being vulnerable, and allowing us to see behind the "curtain".

Great Stuff Steve! As a 19 year old uni student who aspires to be an entrepreneur, I always compare myself to successful and happy people around my age. I am insecure, feel like I have so many things to focus on and face so many harsh lessons each day (deliberately searching for them) that I grow from. I need to focus on my own passion and business idea; your story and philosophy really helps inspire me. Thank you.

My brother.....Chances of you seeing this comment especially on a video you posted 3 years ago is probably very unlikely however, I still want to post this here. Your channel is a blessing from God himself. Mark my words I will watch every single video you have posted on your channel from your very first to your very recent video. You are right, Information is the key to all and the information you give out on your channel is second to non. Shoutout from NYC & a fellow Chelsea fan. You truly make me want to make the best of every second of my life. You're a kind person with a great personality and you deserve everything you have you really do. May God bless you and send you even more blessings. I'm one of the people that needed a role model like you to change my life around. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and keep doing what you do. There's no money in the world that can replace the love and information you put out there for us. Thank you

Thanks Steve for the continuous inspiration and for the guests to bring into conversation! I have listened to your podcasts over the last few months and catching up with the older ones that I have not managed to watch. It has given me a great boost and a learning platform for the things that I am passionate about. Having an opportunity to listen to other peoples’ stories is really priceless and it gives a perspective. You are not alone! I have started my own business over the last few months, which is doing well and just working on another one with my incredibly clever husband. And this is after already having a long career in the corporate world where every day was dictated by the bigger beasts. Learning at any age is a gift available to all that want it. My family has a motto … Not knowing is not good enough. Go and find out! So I am! I am learning and finding out how to have financial freedom, how to have fun while working and how to do something that matters to at least a small group of people and their animals 😉. Simply and meaningfully … THANK YOU ☺️

Just see now... Impressed. Have a similar story. Don't have mother, my father struggle a lot to raise me, and we don't have money at all. Now i understand the relationship i have whit money. The thing that invalidate me when I was a child, comes now was an adult. Love your work. Your way to speak, helps me to understand everything. I want to be better version of me and your videos help me.

Exactly the medicine i needed today. It’s so easy to get wrapped up in what you don’t have yet, that you forget to be grateful for all that you do, but to also see how far you’ve come. Self reflection is the reason for the growth i’ve gone through the last couple years. Thank you so much for just being real. You’re the coolest xx

I have literally only listened to your podcasts for a few days now and the people you speak to and the wisdom you have is inspiring. I feel like I have found my people. Lol. You have also enabled me to have the lightbulb moment where i sort of knew the answer all along, but you and your other guest speakers clarified it for me. I am so motivated and I have not felt like this in 8 months. So thankyou and I'm excited to watch your journey going forward 🙂

@@TheDiaryOfACEO We basically lived the same childhood, and it was very emotional to me listening to your last point in this episode. I am not rich right now but I still struggle like you on how I deal with my money, in my childhood I was sometimes ashamed with friends on not being able to go to the restaurant to buy a pizza, I was telling them lies about not being able to go. I am not a Millionaire, but I think if I will become one, I will probably invest in my future, these thoughts that are you sharing with us are so VALUABLE. PS I wish I was the stupid guy who refused the job, I would ACCEPT without even thinking about it.

There was a great production manager and development manager , who used to have a “red line” , he/ we would list all the stuff he was going to be able to do , then beneath the red line were all the things we wouldn’t do (this particularly related to development project , where people kept adding additional requests) …the stuff he wasn’t going to do , needed to be shared, as it was almost more important that was done ! Great person .

Steven I’m hooked working through your Podcasts because I’m finding them so interesting & rewarding to me personally. I’ve recently semi retired at the age of 68 so do have some time on my hands at the beginning of another chapter in my life. I so wish you had been around with all of your valuable inspirational conversations, wisdom advice & guidance as a young mixed race girl back in the 1960’s like you the only one in the school with Afro hair lol to help me along. However you weren’t & I stumbled through not too bad either but I’m glad I’ve found you now & passed you on to my own son who has worked through adversity to where he is today someone I’m so proud of. Also my 16 yr old grand daughter to help her along too & anyone else I know who will benefit greatly from your podcasts, that’s how impressed I am & know your parents must be so very proud of you too. Have you helped them sort their home out ? 😂 You are gifted & generous sharing all of this quality advice guidance & information thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m also genuinely interested in working for you in any way or form I have a wealth of knowledge & information to share to & I’m willing to work voluntarily for you so I can keep on learning in a very interesting environment within a network that is so varied stimulating & inspirational I’m up for it 😊

My friend told me about your podcast series tonight Steven and it came at the most perfect time in my life, I have sat and not only deconstructed what you’ve said to relate it to my life and understanding why the decisions I have made have led me here now, it has provided me with a great set of knowledge which I am going to implement into my already progressing life. You are very inspiring and I have watched you on dragons den for a while now. Hopefully one day you will see me take my current business concept and plan to becoming one of the most successful platforms in the world. This is just the start, I’ve got a lot more episodes to go! Hi Steve, Have you considered changing the name of the Podcast? Lex Fridman (great podcast worth checking out) recently changed from "The Artificial Intelligence Podcast" to the "Lex Fridman Podcast". He has a very good explainer video documenting why he changed it. But basically to venture out of his very scientific box and speak to / attract a wider range of guests / listeners. I wonder whether you might have a similar experience, having left SC, it might be worth considering rebranding to something more Steven Bartlett and less CEO. Glad the show is back, just my 2 cents added. Peace

So, I decided to start from where YT will let me start, which happens to be episode 53 as it considers this to be the oldest. Though I might add that I did indeed start on the Morgan Housal interview, which I found enlightening as with this video. I have always lived by the motto that 'Knowledge is power' and will always listen to audio books, podcasts, etc ( never been someone who can sit still to read a book or if I have it's rare). It's funny how Amazon has been stalking me with the 'Diary of a CEO' book for the last 3 months now, but I just kept ignoring until I added it to my audible list. I'm a strong believer that you can alter your brain, though never did I think the shape would change but I suppose that is why Einstein's brain weighed so much. It takes a while but you can alter your thought process for the positive over the negative. I realised quite quickly what I craved as a child that made me feel invalid was the love from my father. He never showed love nor did I recieve it from his parents (my so called grandparent's). He ended up leaving us when I was 9 for some floozy who had no care that she was destroying a family. I grew up dating the wrong men and finally ended up in an abusive relationship when I was 24. When it ended finally at the age of 27 I just took 5 years out to unscrew my head and stay away from all men. I really accessed myself and broke down every part of why I went for who I dated and where it all stemmed from. I was brave at 14 years old to cut all ties with my father but the repercussions of being a child took me to the end of the abusive relationship to fully understand after lots of soul searching. I finally valued what I actually had in my Mother, Sister, my maternal grandparents and Stepdfather. I think you never get over it fully but it sits on your shoulder like a parrot and squarks at you from time to time. With social media it was fun at the start but having also be bullied as a child, I quickly saw it's negative impact and deleted everyone that had never either spoken to me in person or had not known me online for a long period of time. You learn pretty quickly that everyone bar the special few are acquaintances. All notifications except family and the few are turned off which was done 2 years after joining. I use it to keep in touch with 2 group's which I follow and post the odd dog that I come across as being lost or stolen or another cause.

you know when I watch your videos I feel like I'm watching an 18 years old man who's trying to figure out his life I can't imagine you beeing 30 like you know how young kids don't have any problems cause they still don't understand that the bad things happening to them are actually bad so they feel energetic and full of life that's the vibe Iget from you and I really miss that part of my self I feel like it just faded into the depression, anxiety, responsability... I would like to hear from you how you can keep it

I got v excited about the fact that you E used reverse psych so well and said, "Please keep this to yourself" hahaha, nice! Alsoooo, Season 3 Episode 2 just triggered something for sure! Cause it's a twist on one of my absolute favourite Glass Animals songs. 😬
