Hi Gavin, very recent subscriber here. We have almost no overlap in book taste, I have been binging your videos coz of you, your personality and creativity. It's horrible to see you being upset. Many booktubers (and other youtubers) go without talking about the upsetting stuff but I think sometimes pressure to appease commenters shows through and that is sad. I think it's brave of you to be so open about it. When people are mean online it almost invariably means they are unhappy in their own life - obviously, that does not make it ok and doesn't make it hurt less for the recipient - just remember that ANYONE'S opinion on you is just that, one opinion, and it does not define who you are. You are clearly very loved. From what I've seen from your channel and seeing you in other people's videos, you are a maker and multiplier of joy and laughter for countless people. I think that's a gift and you are special for it.

You are literally one of my comfort booktubers. Plus I just really admire people who can show their face. As a trans person I don't feel that brave. I'm not ready to show my face in book or other videos I do. So keep doing what you do. This was so much fun, I loved it. I hate what people's comments sometimes do to you and I'm sure others but you showing that is really amazing. For what it's worth, we've never met but I've spent hours with you, we've laughed, I've picked up books you've recommended, I've responded unconsciously when we agree actually talking like a crazy person to my phone. Your channel is wonderful and so many people, myself included, come here to escape from the world. Please never stop being you. Hi Gav, I'm going to add to the wave of positive comments I'm seeing. You are an amazing content creator and the community is lucky to have you. It's an unfortunate truth that negative comments tend to stick out more and make us pay attention to them, but when that happens the important thing is to remember how much positive there is too. It's okay to feel down sometimes, there is absolutely nothing wrong with feeling our feelings (you ARE entitled to have feelings, btw). It's so easy to think "something's wrong with me" sometimes when nothing could be further from the truth. It's good to see you bounced back, please know that we're here for you, always

Thank you RockyJ ❤I definitely try to not show the sad moments in my videos and only focus on the positives, but I think being vulnerable in my content helps me to push past through the days I feel sad. And also hopefully people will see me being honest with my feelings and know it's okay to be honest with their feelings too. I appreciate your kind words!
