Hey Everyone! Micah and Christian were really awesome to put themselves out there and do something like this. They tried to make a connection when a lot of people today would have said no. There are going to be things said you don’t agree with, but I encourage you guys to try and choose something different, and let’s show both sides some respect in the comments 🙏

This series was absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much for telling this story!! Coming from my perspective as a still-undecided voter with a mix of liberal and conservative views, and as a Christian as well with friends on all sides of the political spectrum.... This video sheds light on the unity that does exist in the states as a baseline. The division that is center stage is, well, like theatrics on a stage, not the full picture. Division is fed to us on social media, news media, from our politicians, and by proxy from our friends and family... Division sells, but Unity Strengthens... I think we really witnessed something crucial. When politics are center stage in a discussion, division is easy. Yet when we set it aside, connection and unity are real. When Politics are the only defining feature of what one makes one's self to be, division and arguments are incredibly common. But when we choose to focus on the other things that make us ... us... we can find plenty of common ground and cause to support each other. In a world that is more "connected" than ever before via the internet... that same medium removes that human element and facilitates a mentality of assumptions about the other people. It makes it easier to sow hate and division. This series shed light on a light, and truth, that if more Americans were able to see, our country and society would be much better off. Some say Trump being president will solve it all, others say Harris will. Others say Stein, or Kennedy... But no politician is going to fully heal the divide. We need a paradigm shift of how folks connect with each other and this is an amazing step in that direction. Thank you to the storytellers that are leading us towards healing!

I really enjoyed this series! I am a firm believer that we should all get along despite of our differences. However, I do wish that we could talk about our differences without getting so emotional. I truly like to hear why people think differently then myself but everyone assumes that I’m trying to start an argument when I ask them a question. The important thing is to not throw insults or derogatory remarks because that only escalates things. Also, don’t try to back someone into a corner just to prove a point. We have to respect each other. I was impressed by how Micah & Christian acknowledged when things were getting heated and put a stop to conversation until they calmed down & became grounded. Great job by both of them!!!❤

I loved this! I'm agnostic and a republican. So I get into arguments over religion and politics quite often. My ex was a die hard democrap. Nothing I could say or prove would change her mind. But we were together for almost a year. She broke up with me be cause "I was too clingy" and then 2 months later goes off on me about what a POS I am and if it wasn't for my parents i'd have nothing......after I gave her $20k to support her gambling habit out of my own pocket. We didn't speak for almost a year. I had a breakthrough with my depression at that time, and now we are back on speaking terms. She's still not a fan of me talking honestly and bluntly, but the time I was with her I was happy. We agree to disagree

Both of them were shocked at how Normal the other person was. Thats the truth. We weren't split like this as a country until Occupy Wall Street. We got too close to the money (the real problem) so they used the news to make us fight each other, instead of focusing on the REAL Problem... big corporations who fund the politicians, so the politicians do what their donors say. The media and politicians are the ones dividing the country, and generating this hatred toward one another, but this idea you have "introduced" in this delightful video series by bringing 2 people together with opposing views is the true way to begin the process of ending the division in our country and the rest of the world as well. Please do more videos like this and little by little our country can be united once again.

I think that's why so much of what Micah says in this video annoys me. I don't know all the struggles he's been through but so much of what he likes and says just seems ironic. Same with that skydiving instructor. "We call you a parrot." Then multiple cuts of Micah parroting right wing talking points like abortion and being wrong about what's in the bible, even when Christian tries to correct him. "Only Democrats kill people" as if Trump's violent rhetoric, January 6th, and two Republican attempted assassins don't exist. Christian's surprise at a Mexican being a Trump supporter really sells it. How can you politically debate people that you can't even take seriously because their whole worldview seems like a South Park parody on logic?

Yo, DC. First, I love your content. You showed me how simple citizens of USA live and dream. Second, and moreover, you successfully proven a point to me, a thing that really concerns me as a young man living in a country at war. That despite the political differences and ideologies, we shall not ever forget that the person we are standing next to is not "name"-supporter, but first and foremost a Person. There's a strong age gap in politics in my country that tears families apart: old people lived in my country for so long that it's hard for them to imagine the other, not theirs, say of living. On the other side, there's young pals like me who were shown better lives when we were growing up, just to see how everything can go wrong in less than a decade. Thank for reminding me and all the people out there that unconditional respect still exist and thrives - all we need is just look closer. TY so much

This trio series was still inspiring but very surface level, relatively, imo. As you said, it's obvious anyone can get along despite their opposing views. But I don't think they want (or need) to really get into the weeds of politics. That's why they cut Micah's rant during that other video and why none of the debates between him and Christian are longer than about two sentences for any one topic. I saw healthy conversations and light poking fun. Without having an honest open dialogue, we get stuck in our bubbles. I would consider it a problem if we didn't talk to one another due to political differences. What makes America great, is being able to have differences of opinion and lifestyles with the freedom to do so. It opens up more dialogue, and understanding, and viewpoints can possibly change, but most important, to build a relationship with one another, and not creating a civil war amongst each other. Without conversation, pent up anger and rage towards another is inevitable, and hate for each side starts to form. There is a lot more in common between both sides than we think. Both seem to care about their families, friends, and the right to think whatever they want. That's how it should be.

so proud of these two wonderful people, they both stepped outside of their bubble and it was beautiful to watch, sure they have differing opinions on politics, and both come from different places but in most cases i found them open and positive with just the right amount of ribbing each other without resorting to personal insults, they reminded me of lots of couples i know who have different views and yet in most cases these were not a major differences in fact they seemed to have many traits in common, both were outgoing and kind with a good outlook and sense of humor, you may have occasionally heard the saying like a magnet poles opposites attract, and their interactions after the two activities especially the rock climbing where they worked together and trusted each other i thought that a little bond of respect for each other began to come to the fore. i hope that they continue to keep in contact even if it is only through messaging or an occasional phone call to see how each other are getting along, if only more people took the time to listen to each other and respect the other persons opinion this planet would be a much better place, great experiment guys, more of this please.

I will be voting for trump, but I have friends and family members who are voting for kamala. I love and respect them all the same. What the government wants us to do is fight one another based on our political views. In my opinion. The Government and media seem to want us to fight rather than unite. Mostly because they know what we could accomplish if the American people united as a full force to combat the constant agenda serving lies, propaganda and ideals they try to push on us. I honestly wish someone would come up with a replacement for the two-party system. It is the one constant that always drive people to fight one another every decade. @Evy-198813 күн бұрын
I would like to clarify btw: I do think that different opinions matter and that there could be heated debates and fundamental disagreements. You can disagree about what problems are in society and you can disagree about what solutions you want, but only if you know the same information, trust the same sources etc. Or even just actually listen to each other
@scopie4913 күн бұрын
I agree. Surface level talking points and what the skydiving instructor said, "we call you a parrot," holds true for both sides. I think verbal debates are very difficult because you end up wanting to talk over each other. Having graphs, charts, or written testimony is much more useful if you truly wanted to debate with someone in an attempt to find common ground. Debating is also time consuming. They had an argument about abortion. You could bring up a dozen different reasons on either side about why it should or shouldn't be a thing. But who really takes the time to spend like a full hour discussing a single reason or talking point? Instead of listing off a dozen reasons, how about getting reeeeeally specific into the weeds on the women who've died recently because of the Roe v. Wade decision and stick to that single point alone. Discuss back and forth about what it means for choice, etc. Talking out loud it's too easy to just ignore the other person's words because you already have a rebuttal as soon as they start talking.
@Evy-198813 күн бұрын
@@scopie49 yes, it's horrible and frankly: hardly listening to the other, just waiting for when you can come back with a rebuttal (that's also preconceived) does not do any justice to any of the issues. Abortion is such a heavy decision, and there are more topics that are tough enough as is without being reduced to a heated discussion where neither party listens to the other.
@scopie4913 күн бұрын
@@Evy-1988 Pretty much. It goes for any serious topic. I feel like I'm good at debating when done online because I can take the time to deconstruct an argument and address each specific point with counter points. A single sentence might contain 3+ words or phrases that can be criticized. But you can't formulate a verbal counterargument to each and every point. You'd being to ramble on so long and eventually the other party would start talking. Verbal debates each side will latch on to the biggest grievance and then go from there. It really lowers the threshold for competent discussion.
