It’s difficult for women to diagnose their pain because it sometimes gets blamed on hormones or periods rather than whatever actual medical issue they face, so why are transwomen so quick to assume they are feeling period pain when it could be any other number of issues that present with the same abdominal/pelvic/back pain?

Right? Gotta have an actual uterus to have a real period. Not to mention those studies where men were hooked to that machine where it mimicks period cramps and or labor pain. And they literally could NOT handle it at all. Was a very interesting experiment in my opinion. Men and Women are indeed different. PERIOD. END OF STORY. It really is insulting to us real women. I also suffer from absolutely debilitating periods. Ever since the very first time I had mine. To the point of missing classes at school and ending up having no other choice but to be but on birthcontrol. And even that did not make my experience completely bareable. I still deal with it every single month. But now the difference is my insurance is refusing to cover procedures and things I actually NEED. Because I am only 35. Yet they will do a hysterectomy on a child whom believes or was brainwashed into thinking they are trans. So if I at 35 "might change my mind", how is it a literal CHILD couldnt possibly regret it? Seriously wish they would make it make sense. Sorry that response ended up way longer than anticipated lol. Wish you and yours the absolute best! Hope you are able to enjoy your weekend! I've had ovarian cysts as long as I can remember (I'm supposed to be on birth control to help with it but I'm not) and still dealing with near-debilitating periods. If the first day or two happens to be on days I don't work I usually just curl up in a ball and try to sleep through it, but if I'm working I just have to suck it up like every other woman with similar conditions and hope I can take enough meds to just take the edge off. I almost wish trans women could just feel it for a day and then maybe they would stop pretending their meds side effects or whatever are the same thing. I've had non-period (non-reproductive system) related abdominal craps that I was hospitalized before. It's not the same at all. I'd almost rather the unrelated except at least I know what's going on when I get the period ones.

When I've tried to explain it to men, I've likened it to cramping diarrhea that causes you to double over. And it's better once you go to the bathroom. They would go as far as buying pads and putting red food coloring on them and taking photos, getting the doctor to prescribe midol (Dr prescribed ibuprofen instead). Her psych doctor and medical doctor both tried to explain how it was not possible and if blood was really occurring it's an underlying health condition and not a period but she refused to accept that as an answer. She did have to get her prostate checked after several months of "periods" and "horrible cramps" ..lol which was fine and healthy.. @cynthiahembree3957 so... no. Period cramps are your uterus every time and the hormones that cause them aren't given to transgender people. Protoglandis causes the uterus cramping men's bodies produce it but since they have no uterus is performs a different function. All other period related symptoms are caused by progesterone and testosterone coming up and making estrogen fall. This doesn't occur in men because they don't have ovaries and they aren't given progesterone and are given steady doses of estrogen. No fluctuations occur for them because they don't have the system that causes the flux.

I'm Cornish and Cornish pasties (pronounced 'parstees', like Amala said), are definitely a thing. They date back to when the majority of the Cornish workforce were miners. They're made with a special sticking out crust that the miners could hold as they ate so that they could eat with dirty hands but not get the dirt all over the food. Although they're now usually steak and veg, lamb and veg, or vegetables (for the veggie option) wrapped in pastry, traditionally they were part savoury and part dessert in the same pasty (they're pretty big). It was a filling meal for the men in the middle of a very long and exhausting day. In Britain they're called Cornish, not British, the same way that things from Wales are Welsh, things from Scotland, Scottish, and things from Ireland are Irish. We rarely claim England! LOL :)

I'm a woman, but I have an androgenous looking face/body. I did wrestling in high school. Since there were only 2 women only tournaments, I wrestled the boys. So many times I'd get called "Justin", or my opponent would be told to "grab his leg". And yet it never bothered me because I knew it was a possibility when I signed up for a guys' sport. I kept my hair so short, since otherwise I'd have to wear a hairnet under the headgear and I wasn't dealing with all that (with my thick, long, and curly hair). Even before I cut my hair I got mistaken as a guy. This was because I only ever wore a dress for my band concerts since it was a requirement. Any other time I wore men's attire as I got hand-me-downs from my dad, it's more comfortable to me, and men's clothing is easier to shop for Then there was the time my classmate hit my car in the parking lot before a football game, the guy's parents were there too so I handled it with my dad on the phone. The guy's dad said "my son hit your son's car" and my dad didn't correct him that he'd actually hit his daughter's car because he knows idgaf. To me, guy, girl, call me whatever, just call me one or the other. I'm not gonna correct anyone unless I intend to have a long term relationship (coworker, friend, significant other, etc) with the other person. It's not worth the effort to me to completely stop what we're doing to correct someone for calling me a guy.

If you haven't had exploratory surgery by someone who can excise it, you may want to research it. It can affect your bowel and intestines by wrapping around it. Women with endometriosis often have some other pelvic issues, sometimes ibs.. No gyn I saw would give me a hysterectomy like I asked, said I might meet a man some day who might want kids. My medical needs didn't matter. I definitely believe it is possible that a person taking estrogen could have cramps due to it without having a uterus. Biological women who have had a hysterectomy too. It would be due to the same reasons in a male or female, which is that the hormones that control the menstrual cycle cause smooth muscles in the abdomen to cramp in order to expel the uterine lining. Guess what is made of smooth muscle in the abdomen other than the uterus? Your intestines. Some of the pain we feel when we have periods is coming from our intestines, but the way the nerves react to pain in that part of the body feels the same whether it’s the uterus or the intestines that are hurting. However, I don’t know whether taking estrogen causes hormonal cycles in people who do not have ovaries to produce it naturally. Maybe not since you are taking the same amount every day but if you are making it in your ovaries the levels of estrogen and progesterone change throughout the month. If anyone has had their ovaries taken out or gone through menopause and taken estrogen I would love to hear about your experience. To be clear I am not saying men can have periods. I have endometriosis and find that a particularly irritating notion. I am only saying that it could be possible for them to have period-like intestinal cramps because of the estrogen they’re taking.
