I am 22 years old and was diagnosed a few months ago. People ask me why I need this diagnosis, because it won't change anything, right? There is no medicine that would change my brain. This disease will be and is every time I wake up, try to do my homework, clean the house, etc. But knowing that you are not the problem, but that you have some problems, makes everything easier. I'm happier, I'm calmer. Thank you for sharing your story, it gives me faith that we can be just as good as other people in every way.

It would be great to add the Polish translation. The speech gained popularity in Poland, but only people who speak English well can use it. It would be beneficial for people with ADHD if their loved ones could watch this movie, or if young people could watch it (with understanding).

You are lucky you had a person like Kamila who saw who you are, not who you aren't. Cheers to Kamila.

I relate sooo much man! Tho wept at the end. Never heard anyone saying 'love you for trying so hard'. Never, ever. Always only remorse on unfulfilled expectations 😔 Gets easier on the way, 38 girl and still trying 💪🏻

I wept at the end. Yes, we try hard. Every day is a challenge and tears, sweat and blood is all here. We really need support and love from others to cary on- not exclusion and isolation. We need help in certain areas, but in other ones we are excellent and we have great capabilities but we need to by nourished and understood . Since I was young i was dreaming about honest and caring society - cause I am like this, but unfortunately level people's ignorance is absurd. I wish people have more curiosity and empathy towards the others. Every day I loose hope that I can make it, then I try to do my best. Every day. Literally every day. Please try to show some interest with those who struggle. Pro tip:Helping with chores can be great relieve for those who suffer. ❤️

"I wasn't a genius. I was allowed to read and learn whatever I wanted". And being a "golden child" is a problematic label too. And that was a horrible effect of those punishments - to convince an 11-year-old that the world was better off without him. BUT had you ever felt included? [in the diversity and inclusion meeting]. 7:11 this is where *I love you for trying so hard* comes in [and that is probably a thing you had never been told yourself?] [actually it was the grandfather who said it - but that doesn't happen until near the end]. [And *I love you for trying so hard* is for allies and curious people too]. [and you are probably one of the reasons there are so many good Polish titles on Netflix over the past four years] ... Third most populated country ... Good luck with the script! SIXTY PERCENT OF SUICIDES ARE [attempted? completed?] by ADHD people under 12.

The World of today care more about whether you function than about whether you thrive. I know It's forbidden to say it, but have our society ever considered that some people aren't made for the modern life?
@notojacek3 жыл бұрын
Part of the early draft of that speech has moments of what you are saying about - that the modern world was created for majority to succeed, so every person that is even slightly different than what is considered "the norm" would have really, really bad times. But wasn't enough time to actually put It there. But I agree, we need changes in daily functioning of our modern society for more people to thrive and just be.
