My mind is conflicted cause all those tracks are on my constant rotation, but Paralyzed... man, that track is insane! And Necessary Evil was more experimental for them, Paralyzed was insane, so that's my favorite one yet

This new MMF is basically the new yardstick for the current metalcore meta imo - like it's super generic, but done better than just about anyone else. It may be fast food, but it's the best damn fast food restaurant in town.

Memphis May Fire, specifically Matty Mullins, being friends with Cody Quistad of Wage War is reminding us how good these guys really are.
@AirRedbox3 ай бұрын
I don’t even think it’s that generic. Choruses are pretty unique in my opinion with how Matty is using some screams in them … some unexpected turns and the breakdowns they’ve been doing sound pretty fresh. Like with paralyzed … after the first chorus I didn’t expect it to go into a completely different riff/groove and it was sick

Necessary Evil is the best song of their new era. It is just octane enough to appease their new fans, but heavy enough to make their old fans happy.

I really enjoyed this! It’s fun to be part of your journey. Would love to see this with more bands that you have the similar experience with.

Since Remade in Misery they have dropped solid “Octanecore.” Decent riffs, engaging breakdowns, solid vocals. It’s not gonna shake up the genre but if you want something catchy that’s heavy you can’t go wrong with what bands like Memphis May Fire, Crown the Empire, Sleeping With Sirens, or Fire From The Gods have done in the last few years.

Exactly, and to be 100% honest, I'm completely fine with that as well.

I think their last album "Remade in Misery" is a perfect gateway album. It has a mix of everything. Not really a bad song on it and it's just an easy listen. It's not gonna blow anyone away sure but its definitely solid.

Death Inside I think is their best song. Fucking BANGER. The riff work in that song is 👌🏻

It's cool to see how you are more open to what the band is aproaching with their music and us as a fandom, instead of looking for something to like instantly in their music, I really liked how you understand how MMF is working recently. In my opinion, MMF is back into their prime, their songwriting is "tactical" with the pop structures, with those little details on drums, guitars and bass, that makes the song more enjoyable and cohesive. With that being said, Paralyzed is my favorite single, but Necessary Evil got me confused about it, it's modern metal and experimental, the guys are having fun, let's wait how the album turns out, one of my most anticipated albums of the year. Also, Seven by Anberlin is a gem for me, musically is more contemplative, reminds me a little bit to Norma Jean, with something of Matty's solo project kind of vocal, it's refreshing for them after 10 years with no album, so stoked to see what's comes next with MMF and Anberlin 😍🔥

Idk how does listening to Remade in Misery or Make Believe not make you already a MMF fan, but respect regardless!

I suspect he will feel similarly. Those albums are carbon copies of what they are doing now. Generic AF but every single makes you want to move. Catchy as hell. But I guess you could say that about every album they've put out.

I like all their stuff, that EP was pretty good too! Necessary Evil is a damn banger. They are far from one of my favorite bands, nor unique in any way, but they are damn fun to listen to!

I’m so glad you mentioned Anberlin and “Seven” at the end, because I was going to comment that you should check it out! I’ve been playing that song so much since it dropped. I’ve always thought Matty has a great voice and the work he’s doing in Anberlin showcases it in a really cool way that’s different and more engaging than MMF, for me

I'm quite new to MMF, found them in the beginning of the year with Misery that I really love. Then I found The Fight Within which I also really enjoyed. And then a few months later these released 😀 Chaotic grew on me, Paralysed an instant banger and I like the last too. I had no idea about their history, but with what you showed I honestly like the new guys voice more 😊

Metalbirb you should check out the band spoken. Matt Mullins does a track with them called breath again. But the newer spoken stuff is pretty heavy, they went back to being metalcore again. They were metalcore before then went hard rock, now they’re back to being metalcore and it’s actually pretty good stuff

Really interesting to see how your opinion gradually changed over the singles, but holy shit the chat during your reactions is unbearable (in this video) Not even giving the songs a chance and always being like „Mimimi this is generic and mediocre“ is super disrespectful to me
@mmf-rules3 ай бұрын
Definitely, when someone is too hard with a band in his criticism, some people get it as a signal to hate a band. Whatever, it's cool to see how Metalbirb is more open to what the band was aproaching with their music and us as a fandom, instead of he looking for something to like instantly in their music, and he was capable to understand how MMF is working recently. Also the chat, was more open with Necessary Evil, that song is more experimental and heavy, so it's good to see that support of the chat too.

I've always loved MMF. There was like 2 or 3 albums I didn't care for after Challenger until Remade In Misery. The Hollow, Challenger, Remade In Misery were fantastic albums. I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea but I don't understand the hate. Saying their boring or whatever is just dumb to me. "Octane core" is also dumb. Either listen to them or don't. They've been a band for 17 years for a reason. Either sit back and enjoy the music or go listen to something else. And I don't mean this aimed towards BIRB I mean it towards everyone in general.

I think I've commented this multiple times before - but check out their first album Sleepwalking! It's the perfect inbetween of their 'Risecore' and 'Southern' sounds - definitely better than their follow up on Rise.

Man, Remade in Misery album is soooo good. If you think these songs rock even just a little, you really need to check that album out. Blood and Water is a total banger and so are most of the others on that album.

I love these songs. But I’m a huge wage war guy and even bigger Cody fan. He doesn’t get the credit he deserves but is constantly putting out bangers writing choruses and riffs. Sign me up.

Lmao listen, I totally recognize how bands like Memphis May Fire, wage war and void of vision come off, but MY GOD MAN. These boys know how to write a hook lol. Maybe they follow a formula. Maybe it’s pop. But I am nodding my head, making stank face, and singing along every damn time. They got me.
@drhyde8943 ай бұрын
one thing that you can’t take from MMF is their catchy chorus😂
@brandonerwin70313 ай бұрын
I'm not sure they've ever put out a song that wasn't catchy. It's pretty crazy how so many bands struggle with this, and bands like MMF and Falling In Reverse seem to have a monopoly on the catchy chorus.

the fact that you think the first mmf album is better than challenger is mind rott, and calling a very successful band "generic" is hilarious, quick question, whats your bands name? how many hits you have? just wondering
