Take away? Get yourself down to an indian supermarket with a list of ingredients for the base gravy and your favourite curry on Al's channel. So easy to follow his instructions and tastes better than most curries you get from take aways.

Made this beauty tonight. Because it's such a big portion I added some more spices, mixed powder, chilli, garam masala. I did it towards the end and just eyeballed it. Maybe that's what you felt it was missing? Beautiful though and goes really well with the Lamb

I really want you to try K2 balti house in Hemel Hempstead, it's by far the best curry house i've ever tried the food is always on point. My favorite dish is Madras *less hot* and i love making your Madras curry after moving to germany it always makes me think of home, since the curry's in germany always smell and taste like super market jarred curry :(

Also live in Germany (Dusseldorf)...lock down gave me the impetus to try cooking a curry and now I rarely will eat them at a restaurant here.

Lives in Germany for 30 years now, and almost never had a "wow" curry. A new restaurant opened near us, so I told the chef my problem. He smiled, wrote +++ on the order, and it was so much better. He explained that was how they order for themselves and not the German tastebud.

Glad your better! Made this tonight but the garlic purée is a bit overpowering, is that because it was added late? If you think it is maybe you could edit the video with a bubble at the beginning saying when to add the garlic purée? I should have watched in advance before hand! Not sure how to fix, I’m cooking it a bit longer to see if that helps.
