This notion that there is hatred and jealousy is fake, social media driven baloney. It's not real. People need to stop believing the fake stuff. Even Clark has commented on it and tried to shut down the talk about Carrington. In the NBA, there is far more physicality, a lot more flagrant 1 and flagrant 2 fouls, which are very rare in the WNBA. And, NO ONE cries out that the NBA players hate the opponent when they do a hard foul or flagrant. Why are people treating female pros differently? Some sort of misogynistic bias?

99% of the drama is made up social media stuff. So many sites, such as on Facebook, are creating fake drama, stirring up fans, just using Clark to get clicks. People need to stop believing the fake stuff. Even Clark has tried to shut down the fake drama, such as saying Carrington's eye poke "was not intentional, just watch the video". All the claims about jealousy and hate are fake, too. It's ridiculous the over-reaction to a few hard screens or had fouls, or a couple of flagrant 1's. The over-reaction is weird and these things that occurred in the WNBA and very mild compared to what is routine in NBA games. No one says Jokic hates the opponent when he does a flagrant 1. There is some sort of misogynistic take that female players need to be all nice and sweet and the court, with zero physicality. And, this leads to some major over-reaction by fans saying a player should be kicked out of the league for a flagrant 1 foul. It's bizarre. It's as if these fans have never watched an NBA game before.

Another poster who treats the WNBA differently from the NBA. The NBA was in bad shape in it's 40th year, but people expect the WNBA to have been profitable earlier than the NBA? As recently as 2018/2019, half of NBA teams were losing money and propped up by the shared pool fund the big market teams pay more in to (Forbes magazine analysis). But no one talked about that. The NBA didn't really take off financial until the Magic/Bird/Jordan years. But, people only bring up the "money/profit" talk when discussing a women's league, as a way to bash professional women's sports. When men's leagues often took even longer to get established financially. Also, what held back the finances of the WNBA is the old male, media heads burying the WNBA in their coverage and sites. You don't grow fans if the media won't cover you. Take my local metropolitan city newspaper. We have a WNBA team. Before the football and baseball seasons, the newspaper will have numerous personal interest stories about players, including new players. They don't write any articles of that nature about the WNBA team and getting to know the players is how the fan base grows. The old media heads are stuck in the football/baseball mindset. Pro soccer and NBA local team gets less coverage than football or baseball.

Agreed. Both leagues would rather focus on the drama, politics , highlight plays and personal lives of the same players rather than actually breaking down the game of basketball and how each player impacts the game or how certain teams actually run their schemes. Basketball merely takes a back seat to the product when it should BE the product. Instead of saying these players are so great, show us WHY they’re great and stop tearing certain players and teams down simply because they’re aren’t a big market.

@@marceybullnah. It wasn’t the comment on black women and racism it was her saying the eye gouge and physical play weren’t legit. That it was an accident. It wasn’t.

@@TheRoadLessChosen - It's up to her to decide how she wants to handle that ... And I think more than the eye poke bothering her (intention or not), was folks attaching "protecting" her in the name of whatever thing they are against - black people, lesbians or just being anti-WNBA in her name. I personally believe that's why she took the high road to turn away from all that anti- everything toxicity that came with it ... But obviously only CC, just 22YO, knows for sure her perception and/or the reason for her answer the way it was. Not a big enough deal to wave off that much talent, IMO.

Good for you! You have more emotional maturity and character than the bad seeds in WNBA 🎉

Crazy that your channel has done more for the WNBA than their literally commisioner and “leaders” They should of marketed crazy had CC and Angel all over Time Square Bird Magic style 🧠

Thank you Rachel for being the voice of reason. One of the saddest things to me is about all of the young girl basket players and fans who came to watch all excited and wide eyed, and instead they see all of the garbage drama given first billing. "Golly, do I have to be catty and petty and mean and disrespectful to play girls basketball?" Rachel, it is much worse than embarrassing.

I couldn’t believe the Mystics co-owner came out and said that. Whether you like CC or not, she moved the needle in 2024. And she deserved Athlete of the Year, not because she’s the best women’s basketball player in the world…she isn’t, at least not yet…A’Ja and Stewie would have something to say about that…but AOTY measures more than just performance. Nobody moved the needle and translated into ratings like CC. And to answer the Mystics co-owner, here’s part of the reason (other than they don’t put the whole league on the cover, like they didn’t put the entire NBA on the cover for LeBron) they wouldn’t put the entire WNBA on the cover…Caitlyn was doing this even BEFORE she went to the WNBA. Don’t forget the Women’s NCAA Tournament was in this calendar year…and games with CC vs LSU, UCONN and SC did awesome numbers. When CC played, it was appointment viewing. She brought all of that with her when she went to the WNBA. And the Mystics owner, of all people, should know that since they had to move a game to a bigger arena when they played the Fever!!!

We just don't see this drama in mens sports. And if there is, we try to ignore it, where the woman seem to amplify it. CC playing basketball, that's all I want to see and hear. End of story.
