I don’t really make comments on videos but I gotta say man this is a straight banger! I can’t stop making these, pro tip for other viewers: Less is more: don’t drown it in sugar and cinnamon it’ll ruin it, it’s gonna drive you nuts with sweetness, just sprinkle enough to make it lightly covered, Add salt: yes, salt is gonna take it to the next level not too much but salt brings out the flavor Be sure to sprinkle a little after cooling, sometimes the sugar melts so hitting them with a little spray and sprinkling sugar adds the cinnamon toast effect You might have to microwave them for a bit longer that’s okay, if you have a weak microwave don’t go over 40 seconds, but you can do them for a couple rounds in 40 sec increments to prevent burning Cut them into smaller bites, it’s less cumbersome to eat them by cutting them into semi large squares as an optional bonus tip, when you take them out of the microwave put em straight into the freezer to flash cool them, cools them quicker and the crisp much better then just leaving them on the counter

Thanks for the tips. I was wondering if I could use the oven instead of the microwave or would that change the texture?

Lots of people don't realize this but those Lavash flat breads are only 60 calories IF you cut them in half. Great video! Gonna try this myself.
@TheDietChef2 жыл бұрын
Yes, and a lot of people also don’t realize that I base the serving size on 30 g of it cooked… Which is about the average size of a serving of cereal
@TheAverageSniper2 жыл бұрын
@@TheDietChef For me, the average cereal serving is the whole box 😅
@thenew45592 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's honestly pretty misleading to have the serving size as only 1/2 of a flatbread. Very few people would only eat half of one at a time.
@BruceWayne-jz3it2 жыл бұрын
Also, according to the nutrition label, a whole lavash is around 64g; but if you actually weigh it, they are around 95g. They’re actually about 178 calories instead of 120 calories for the whole thing
@thenew45592 жыл бұрын
@@BruceWayne-jz3it I've heard that mentioned before, so I personally always weigh mine and calculate it based on that. I don't think I've ever had lavash that large though, the end up being more like 140-150 Calories (still significantly more than what the label says).
@frappelover62132 жыл бұрын
Finally got around to making this, and it's amazing. I put mine on the toast setting in my air fryer oven and the crunch was everything. I thought adding milk would make it soggy, but it actually seemed to get crunchier.

The Lavish bread is wonderful, but it is 60 cals for 1/2 a piece, not a whole piece. The bread is also the perfect size to be lasagna noodles and works better than any other low carb lasagna noodle I've tried.

exactly, noticed this too. All the other ingredients add another ~50 calories aswell which may seem insignificant until you start having multiple servings

@@spoofy0760 The other ingredients he used could easily be replaced with better alternatives, though. I couldn't find the lavash bread in my local area. I used HEB/Mission Low Carb Wrap instead. Turned out great. And cutting with a knife or scissors vs. cutting with a pizza cutter actually made a texture difference. The pizza cutter is the way to go!

The first time I made this it took me a long time and I made a mess. Today I made it a little different and it was way faster and easier with no mess. I halved the recipe for a quick bowl. I mixed the swerve and cinnamon in a coffee grinder, cut the lavash in half, coated both sides and microwaved the coated lavash for about a minute. When it cooled slightly, I cut it into strips then broke off the bite size pieces with my fingers. It was actually more crunchy than my first batch came out. I made some keto milk with 75ml heavy cream, 175ml water, pinch of salt, and 4 drops of stevia. I was done in less than 10 minutes. Best keto bowl of cereal I've ever had.

This is the real deal, incredible. It pairs wonderfully with unsweetened Almond milk. Cereal is definitely a hard thing to give up when on a low carb diet since I enjoy it as snack and not necessarily for breakfast. I never bothered with the keto cereals since they are ridiculously overpriced and I heard they weren't all that great. BTW, the Joseph wrap is sold at Walmart for a VERY low price. It's a great place to get it which makes this recipe even more affordable. :)

Great idea.. however, I experimented many yrs ago with the microwave with breads, tortillas, etc..instead of cutting up the tortilla in pieces, u can microwave the whole tortilla for 30 seconds -1 min..then let it cool and break it up after it's crispy... unless u want it to be in perfect squares..then u do have to cut it up before microwaving it...

Brooo! I've gotta say... I had the ingredients for this in my kitchen and just went and tried it... You have discovered a gem my friend 😄 lol I'm going to try some tweaks like maybe the oven or just longer in the microwave because some squares were still a tad chewy vs crispy, but overall, I LIKE IT! Waaaaay better than that Catalina Crunch version 🤢 which is fine maybe if you've never had the real thing, but this tastes like spot on and no crazy aftertaste or weird mouth feel 😁 Muchas gracias!

I'm curious about the nutritional info on this cereal. While your recipe says calls for one full sheet of the flatbread to achieve the 6g of protein and 6g net carbs, the serving size on the package is for a half sheet of the flatbread to achieve those macros. And since the recipe is 1 serving, wouldn't it be double the macros, or 12g net carbs and 12g protein? Tastes great regardless!

Just in case, a Joseph Lavash Bread serving size is 1/2 of them, so a whole bread is 120kcals and 8g of cinnamon is about 25kcals, so for the whole thing that's around 145kcals, probably closer to 160kcals with the spray, still very nice though :)
