I fully understand the whole cptsd after living the wrong lifestyle. I cant get soba I only use to stop the anxiety now and go out care free. I try to stop but cant face life without calming down it sucks. Even tried taking my own life the anxiety just doesn't stop.

Thank you Joey, I think this is a very important message for people fighting to get out of situations like this and/or dealing with a traumatic past, especially when we see ourselves in a moment in life when we so fervently want to change but don't know where to start. Violence just generates more violence and there's no end to it if we don't put a stop to certain attitudes, but it isn't easy to get out of situations like that. It's like when you said on another video, you only go around with a weapon because others also have one too, and the cycle isn't broken for as long as the environment isn't safe enough to not carry a weapon anymore. Sometimes I look at a photo I have of myself with a bunch of "friends" at the time (about 20 or so) and realize that only I and another person are still alive and/or out of prison. Many people who are fortunate to survive and change their lives come a long way, and people can really change, and we mustn't give up on them; we mustn't give up on ourselves. It's easy to point fingers and condemn someone for their actions, but what people really need is one good opportunity (and encouragement) to change. Thank you Joey!

I hate how sneaky booze can be. During lockdown and spending time around other parents online, they talked about certain tipples. I had been sober for a year, never tried what they were talking about before. A certain online retailer started same day shopping with time windows. Mental gymnastics, "just this once, I will have more restraint, it's not what I normally drink. It'll be fine, no one would know". It's been hell, on and off lapses and chaos. Heads finally back on straight, coming up 2 months sober. I hope one day I can be where you are, you're doing so well and are a huge inspiration in so many ways. Congratulations and well done!

I'm agnostic - but there is one scripture and I like it: "BAD ASSOCIATIONS SPOIL USEFUL HABITS" This is what I had to do years ago, to get away from dope. Alcohol is one of the worst substances we ever integrated into human culture. I've seen so much damage thanks to this shit. I have a mate who is alcoholic and it's impossible to reason with him.

Nice one Joey. Just made 25 years clean week before last. Never stop being grateful for a better lifestyle. Addiction nearly took my life with twenty years clean - hep C leading to liver cancer and a transplant. There’s no escaping the consequences but we can live a much better life clean. Hope you continue to live your best life.

I was in gangs I was drinking heavily all throughout each week. I would literally drink myself sober. One day I said that's it I am fucking done... My chest used to pound so hard end of the night and my heart would be thumping very loudly, but I was fully sober and didn't understand why. Similar to Joey I stopped all drinking and turned vegetarian. And I am a completely different person, literally the other end of the spectrum. I guess the moral of the story is, You can change and people deserve second chances, it may take a lifetime for them to change and mature, but it can be done. I now protect animals, I am the type to jump in a frozen lake to rescue an animal it is almost like instinct now for me to think this way. I can not watch these farms killing animals as it saddens me way too much, so I have to skip them. I do know what happens. There is no place for evil in this world, so many people are buying into evil without a second thought and it is deeply concerning. Animals deserve the same rights as humans, they share this planet with us but do not get any rights to protection. I hope one day all animal farming is banned fully ! Let these people mature and come onto our side we will welcome them with open arms.
