True, this is horrible, but I'm not entirely sure OP was raped. Hear me out: All he remembers is waking-up next to his friend's sister, with her claiming they had "sex" (rape isn't sex), and later claiming she got pregnant. Then she suddenly has a convenient miscarriage, leaving no proof of there ever being a pregnancy, leading myself and many others to believe she was never pregnant in the first place. If she was fine with lying about a pregnancy for I'm assuming months, it's not entirely unthinkable that she lied about the "sex" as well. Actually... While typing the above comment I realized something: OP was led to believe he was raped, which is in itself a form of rape. Just because there was no penetration doesn't make it okay. I just had to think about it for a bit...

I shave my head not completely bald every other month. Cuz i hate the curls i get. I almost killed my roomate for shaving off a single side burn cuz i asked for help shaving my head in college since i was too poor to go to the salon like usual had to have a friend fix it. She didnt get why i was still pissed at her for the side burn said it was payment for asking her to help first red flag she was crazy. Then my ex who was in training shaved my hair down to bald and i didnt notice until after it was too late to save it cuz i wanted my sides and back down for summer but she did the crown of my head afterwards. Found out she was crazy too for that one. I now do it myself when im alone or i go to a professional cuz apparently my taste of women is so bad i cant be friends with them. Oh and they both told me they would help whenever just ask so didnt have to spend money on it.

I have basic training from taking cosmetology in high-school and fell in love with shaving men's hair so I am the defecto hair stylist for my male friends and family. The LOWEST i would use for my razer is a #2 guard. From there I climb up and blend going bottom to top 2/3/4 if they want it short, 3/4/5 if they want a medium length or 4/5/6 if they want it a longer length.

Despite being physically painless, largely superficial, and will eventually grow back, cutting someones hair without their consent is considered assault. I think the psychology around hair is that it is seen as symbolic of our bodily autonomy.

Hair means a lot in many different cultures and communities. In native American cultures, growing out one's hair is an important symbol of growth of the soul. In religions like Sikh and Rastafarian, they don't cut their hair and protect it in certain styles and coverings because it is no different than cutting off a body part to them.

Story two is frightening, OP was legit date raped. He was passed out and could not consent, that is rape. If OP was a woman there would have been zero arguments about it. Friend's sister was either pregnant with someone else's kid, or was never pregnant in the first place. The scariest thing is, if she was pregnant with someone else's kid then when OP demanded a paternity test, she either forced herself to miscarry or had an abortion behind OP's back and called it a miscarriage. OP needs to understand friend was not his friend, he was probably in on it. Assuming pregnancy was real, best friend probably was like 'OP is a stand-up guy, we make him think the kid is his and he will take care of you and the baby'. Also best friend being like "you're just looking for an excuse to break the engagement" like NO DUH! OP was standing up and doing the right thing, he didn't want to marry the sister!

Then Destiny replied with something along the lines of “You should have spoke up about it to the person doing it when it happened.” A lot more back and forth happened, Destiny was kind of cringe, and then it was revealed that the same situation happened before and when the woman spoke up about it things became worse. Pro tip! If you ever have ‘sex’ with someone while drunk and you have little to no memory of it and it definitely doesn’t sound like something you would ever do or wanted, you were r*ped! Story 1. Absolutely press charges, what Gary did was assault plain and simple. I don't get this whole, "Let's all shave our heads in solidarity," when a loved one/friend has cancer. I too had cancer, and a lot of my female friends and family wanted to do the same thing. I told then all to absolutely NOT shave their heads, and if any of them did, I would not speak to them until their hair grew back. I know many will say that it was horrible for me to behave that way when my friends and family just wanted to be supportive. However, I had cancer, I lost my hair, and I had to look in the mirror everyday and see my hair gone and why it was gone. But, even thought deep down I knew I had cancer, I could momentarily forget about it, and only be reminded when looking in the mirror. The thought of being constantly reminded of the fact that i might die everytime I saw these friends and family with their bald heads almost made me physically sick. NO! I wanted everything as normal as possible, and did not want to see my potential death all the time. Some might not understand this, but when I went in for chemo, many other patients with cancer expressed the same feelings I did on the matter. DO NOT shave your head in support of a loved one with cancer unless you are 100% sure they are ok with it.

As someone who had stage 4 cancer, not everyone loses their hair to chemotherapy. A significant number of people's hair thin out, but they still have a lot of hair and don't need to shave it off, myself included. As far as Gary goes, he committed a crime and needs to pay the consequences for his actions. Even if he is meant to be medicated and chooses to not take his medication, that is his choice as an adult. Is it an asinine choice? Yes. However, he gets to make choices in his life, and he made the choice not to take his meds, he made the choice to assault OP, and he made the choice to admit to it to the police. Thus he gets to deal with the repercussions of his decisions.

Many women can't get justice when they're assaulted under-similar circumstances. He said she said but too drunk to be able to confirm you said no/didn't give consent so it's nearly impossible to get a trail let alone a conviction. There have been women with eye witnesses saying they where unconscious who still haven't gotten justice. And that before you add to that dating/getting engaged to the r**ist after the assault and the time gap. A woman couldn't win here and as OP is man and men have an even harder time getting believed. OP sadly has no chance with the courts for the assault. He might have a case if he found concrete evidence that the pregnancy was fake but he doesn't and miscarriages happen. Taking her to court for that without a smoking g*n would only risk turning people against him.

I can understand kids in a class, voluntarily, cutting their hair to make a classmate feel more comfortable. I can understand people, voluntarily, cutting & donating their hair for wigs to be made for cancer patients. But people shaving there heads to support a cancer patient is just pointless value mining. If you want to help a cancer patient, donate money, run errands, make meals, drive them to & from appointments, clean their house, do laundry, take their trash cans to & from the curb, mow their lawn, take carry of the garden, walk their dogs, babysit their kids, help getting their kids to & from school, if co-workers donate vaction time if needed, or any number of practical things that will actually help them, lighten their load, or reduce their stress levels. True charity is not done for praise but to help other people. St. Nicholas climbed over a wall at night & threw money into a window, so people would not think he was donating for the wrong reason and to not burden the family receiving the charity with indebtedness.

Also consider how many people were in on this. If everyone in your family and a good chunk of your friend group are telling you that you have to marry the girl, you do. You question yourself and your motives. That is what gaslighting is. There were a lot of players in this. He was an abuse victim who was told the abuse was his fault and his intention and then was told that only a disgusting human being wouldn’t marry and love the woman whom he did this to. I really hope that OP can get some justice from this situation… even if it’s just confirmation of facts.

Okay.....I am a 47 year old female who has miscarried multiple children. I feel & see that OP has been mistreated possibly by his own family, the best friend & his family, especially the little sister. Wouldn't be any way shocked to discover that he was intently over feed drinks for the purpose of the lies, and now that the fake pregnancy is gone. They are pissed that he refused to press on into marriage. I think he needs to fill some charges on someone.
