Wilhelm could not face her by visiting her grave as he neither could protect her nor took revenge. So now facing the white whale and finally taking revenge he will be able to visit her grave

What Wilhelm meant when he said that his wife was "loved by the sword" was that she was so incredibly talented with the sword that she pretty much was forced into the role of "master swordman". But she didn't like to have that role at all, she was just someone that loved flowers. But there was no one stronger/more skilled than her. Wilhelm managed to defeat her (effectively granting her wish of a life away from the role imposed to her by the kingdom and earning the right to marry her) but her skills were still extremely good to ignore when it came to having to deal with the whale. So the kingdom ordered her to help to defeat it (that's why he said that even though he defeated her and released her from her role she still was "called by the sword") and that battle ended up killing her.

Not just Roswall knew about the cult going after Emilia. After announcing a half elf as candidate, everyone though the cult would move. Also, this episode shows how capable Subaru actually is. Last episode you had no clue on what to do, but Subaru put things together to push the negotiations forward WITHOUT EVEN LYING. Him taking Anastasia's advice to full use was brilliant, preparing everything before meeting Crusch. This is Subaru when he gives his all, making a triple alliance with other candidates to the throne.
