Beginning this year I bought singer 4423 for mending my ripped jeans at kneehight. And yes, very frustrating going round corners. So I bought a (cheap second hand as new, because using it is somewhat difficult) singer 14sh754 lockmachine, ripped the sideseams of my to mend jeans, sewed a piece of old jeans behind my ripped knees and locked the sides again. I highly recommend it! 4 nice warm jeans, not having to buy new ones got my money invested in these machines right back hahaha. It's fun!

that’s awesome!! I totally agree, ripping the seam on the side and then sewing it back together would be such a help, i’ll have to keep that in mind for the future!!

i overcomplicated it in this video, what i should’ve done is open up the inseam
