Nice Job! I made a similar mount for my KC Daylighters 48 years ago in high school shop class...lol. Time flies when you're having fun! Cheers from Canada.

Good Junkyard find, and the bar stock was a great idea! Thanks for doing this. One note, the flat washer and split (or lock washer) should have been reversed. The lock washer should be adjacent to the nut, and the flat washer adjacent to the bolt. Great videos and ideas. Thanks for sharing.

You are not wrong. The metal is galvanized, though that won't help on the cut ends. Since they worked out so well, maybe I will paint them after all!
