Hello to all my friends, family, and followers -- I have arrived safely in Yemen and I will be exploring deep into the country by myself and one local guide over the next week.
Yemen is (by far) the most difficult country in the world to visit in terms of logistics (getting a visa, planning, etc) and staying safe. I'm sure you are aware that since 2011, Yemen has been in a constant state of war. Tourists are not welcome here, and it's extremely risky for any traveler to visit at this moment -- especially as both an American and a journalist. I am double at risk.
That all being said, I am beyond excited to have this rare opportunity to take you inside one of the most hidden and raw cultures left on earth. My first 24 hours have already been one hell of an emotional ride (as you'll see in this video) -- and you will be hearing lots more over the coming week.

Very interesting Drew! Could you give more inside regarding the situation in Yemen, maybe explain the different conflicts? A few years ago Yemen was a relatively stable country, I remember my mum visiting it a few times as a flight attendant. It's sad how it went down. Maybe you could shine a light on it and also show how normal people still survive in that conflict torn country and live there day to day normal life. Maybe even get their opinion on the situation. You have a great opportunity there!
