I am a ring maker and you did really good! I use the lathe to put chamfers on the inner band just to make it more comfortable to wear. But all in all a great job. You didn’t show this but how to you adhere both ring blanks? Epoxy or maybe CA glue?

8:01 how I imagine I'd be ever using a lathe... And he has experience with them! And he has a piece of plastic essentially checked up, something that would hurt getting hit with if it breaks loose of the chuck, but unlike steel, unlikely to be able to seriously hurt, name or kill you

Absolutely brilliant video. If you want to have really sharp tools for your lathe you need to get a proper diamond wheel for sharpening. You can also use it on your knives.
