@@RainbowPlantLife I went ahead and subbed to your channel. ^_^ I'm wondering if you have any recipes using black lentils (a.k.a. urad dal / black gram beans / matpe beans), not just whole ones but also the split ones that still have the skin, and the split ones that don't have the skin (I think respectively these are called sabut urad, chilka urad, and dhuki urad?). There seems to be a void on KZbin when I search and I've got a bunch to use. I have only one recipe to use for each, and only the one for the whole black lentils that I actually like and don't just tolerate. 😆

Hint...If u put the garlic cloves in the microwave for 1 and 1/2 minutes they will pop out of the skins, so you don't have to mess with pulling the skins off on the cutting board. 🤠

I made this today and it was AMAZING! I was a bit surprised about mixing soy sauce with coconut milk, but it turned out great! I used a very small amount of maple syrup instead of cane sugar. I didn't have lemon grass so I grated in a bit of lemon peel. I just can't believe how delicious it came out. This will be my new go-to tofu recipe. Thank you for sharing yet another amazing easy and budget friendly recipe. Will definitely make this…I hall all the ingredients except the extra firm tofu, lemongrass and coriander seeds. I made the ramen noodles recipe and curly flower rice vegetable stir fry…OMG ❤, tastes so good and anyone I show the pictures of what I made, they’ll say that it looks like I ordered it from a restaurant. You are calm and explain so well it is so much better than other cooking channels . They talk fast and or use AI with their lips moving. The last one i watched the man made me a nervous wreck and he missed 3 ingredients as he went along and “ oh yeah! I forgot the onion!” “Oh ! I forgot the garlic. Add it in.” 😩

I made this tonight and all I can say is wow! So good, and so well-balanced for such strong flavours. I will say it could be a bit salty for some people, so I would advise adding less soy sauce before simmering and then more to taste at the end. Overall though I'd give this 10/10. Love your recipes too, Wil!

Just made it for lunch and it was delicious! I think for those salt averse 1/3 cup soy would be fine. I also just cut my lemon grass in chunks and pulled it at the end.

Must be fried tofu day! Earlier today I received a recipe from one of the Australian bloggers I follow using fried tofu . She suggests atsuage which is fried Japanese tofu. I don't know if atsuage is available in Canada. The pre fried commercial atsuage does not have the bubbles found in Chinese tofu and is less oily. Atsuage can be made with silken tofu at home.
