LEARN HOW TO MAKE THESE SPICY CHILI OIL RAMEN NOODLES IN AS LITTLE AS 10MIN!
LAY HO MA (how's it going in Cantonese)! Not much in this world is more welcoming than a steamy plate of chili ramen noodles after a long day of work. Join me in this episode and learn how to make an incredible 10 minute chili oil ramen noodles recipe today!
Ingredients:
1L water
50g broccolini
60g smoked tofu
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp dark soy sauce
1 tsp sriracha
1 tbsp tahini
1 piece garlic (grated)
1 tbsp + 1 tsp chili oil ( • Most addictive Red Chi... )
100g dried ramen noodles
1/2 stick green onions
1 tsp white sesame seeds
Directions:
1. Fill a small pot with the water. Chop the broccolini into bite sized pieces. Thinly slice the smoked tofu. Add both the broccolini and smoked tofu into the small pot of water and bring to a boil
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sriracha, tahini, grated garlic, and 1 tbsp chili oil
3. When the water comes to a boil, add the dried ramen noodles and cook to package instructions (in this case 3mins). Add a couple splashes of the cooking water to the mixing bowl
4. Drain out the water from the noodles and veggies. Transfer to the mixing bowl and gently fold into the sauce. Plate and garnish with freshly chopped green onions, white sesame seeds, and drizzle of chili oil

Once again, your chili oil brings this dish up to an amazing level of deliciousness. I am a purist for your chili oil, meaning I embrace your original recipe and do not strain out the ground up Sichuan peppercorns, the gochugaru and sesame seeds. I love the added texture your original recipe brings to this noodle dish. A simple, easy noodle recipe that is a keeper!

Just made this: that sauce is very special, really original; spicy, but not too, and intriguingly complex, a wonderful, complete blend. I couldn't find any plain, non-flavored ramen to buy anywhere, so I substituted whole wheat spaghetti, as it's what I had on hand. Since its cooking time is ten minutes, I started it in the boiling water first, then after seven minutes added the broccolini and tofu for the last three minutes, and all worked out well. Thanks for sharing your fine work, as always!
@timothytikker1147

Just made this for the second time, this time using whole wheat linguine. Again, that sauce is so special, really amazing! It's rich and hearty, and the hot spice is just felt in the background, where it belongs, not "in your face!" This dish defines "delicious!" And it's so absurdly simple to make. This is now one of my great favorites! An old friend would describe favorite food dishes saying that it "gives meaning to life!" This is one of those dishes!

Made this the third time just now, but this time substituting baby bok choy for the broccolini, per your suggestion. My one tweak was to separate the leafy parts of the bok choy from the white stem parts, and put the leaves in just for the last one minute of boiling, so as not to overcook them. That worked really well. BTW, your recipe turns out to be the ideal amount for a single serving for just myself -- thanks!

I also minced the white of the scallion to throw into the sauce along with a bit of brown sugar. Sauteed a handful of mushrooms in some soy sauce, deglazed with sake, and threw a fried egg on top. With or without the egg, this is going to be a new go-to lunch in my household. Thank you for sharing.,

So flexible!! This recipe could add in carrot, mushroom, spinach… it would work with pan fried extra firm tofu or cauliflower. Toss some sprouts on top! Add slivered onions. Throw some grated ginger to punch the sauce flavor. Great recipe Will!

Hi Will......great recipe. Is this the same as 'Dan Dan Noodles'?. I saw that dish on another channel and the ingredients are quite similar.

Hi, I really enjoy your channel and always look forward to your new videos. Today, however, I have a question. Why do you cook the tofu in water before? I would be very happy to receive an answer from you.

I'm not one of those people, but some don't like the original uncooked tofu flavor/aftertaste. Maybe it's supposed to cook it off?
