@@davidvento5481 I know. I don't care to investigate because how do I know what's going on inside her head but it's like...any reasonable person (and she's certainly smart enough) might take a step back and consider the feedback coming in from their words. Maybe it's a sign of money and success's power to distort someones ego....and she thinks that just because she thinks it, it must be right.

The "crispy R" is a thing, commonly known as a retroflex R vs a bunched R which Trixie is probably more familiar with from the midwest.

Linguist here! The reason the "crispy R" sounds like that only after a "Cr-" or "Kr-" is because the sounds are getting pulled back together from the velum to the uvula and pronounced slightly deeper in the mouth. This is triggered by the K or C. And is more of a person to person thing, rather than a regional dialect thing

Linguist here about the "crispy r"! So I might have a reason as to why "creamy crispy cracker" sounds weird in that way. At least when I tried to emulate it, I noticed that where I pronounce that "k"/ "c" sound (which is a voiceless velar plosive [k]), it's retracted in the mouth. Which could be read as a retracted voiceless velar plosive (or voiceless postvelar plosive) [k̠] or it could even be just a voiceless uvular plosive [q]. Because the tongue is pushed more back in the mouth, it's having an effect on that "r" sound as well which makes it sound more retracted. I also notice that when Trixie is specifically saying phrases in this "crispy r" sound, she is adding some creaky voice on those vowels (also sometimes called "vocal fry"). When you have vocal fry it lowers the third formant, which is notable because the third formant is affected when dorsal plosives are said (usually it "pinches" together with the second formant, but creaky voice drops the third formant quite a bit). So all of these combined might be coloring the "r" sound in a way that is notable to Trixie. I don't know if this has a concise term necessarily but I can see why she calls it "crispy", it definitely feels more notable!

I don’t understand how trixie can make the leap from 90% making less than $150 a month to the top % of people making a lot of money. They might make $400 a month. $4800 in a year ain’t shit.

I'm a huge fan and I am a bit embarrassed to tell that every time Katya sings, "ooh, there ain't no other way...," I repeat it afterwards and I randomly say it as well. I don't know what it's about or what it's from, but, I freaking love it!

c-ptsd also presents its symptoms in ways that are very similar to autism/adhd. but i also believe that neurodivergency is so misunderstood that many recognized symptoms overlap. (sincerely, someone who thought they were possibly autistic but just have c-ptsd)

Omg, I've always noticed the "Crispy R's", and it's always pissed me off! I feel like it's an influencer vocal affect, just like vocal fry. Trying to sound whimsical and carefree and like vaguely European, lol.

Public PSA: teenagers in the comments please stop diagnosing the girls with neurodivergent disorders - not even qualified professionals would do so via an online video. It’s irresponsible and undermines what it is to be neurodivergent!
