He’s been overhyped for years. The owner of psg also paid off everyone, including EA which has more influence on the perception of young people worldwide than anything else. Even Ligue 1 was artificially pushed up to make it seem better than it actually was. Truth is the Mbappe is a world class LW and one of the very best at that position but he’s underwhelming as a striker and not the best player in the world. Not by a long shot. Football is a team sport and the guy mostly plays for himself which makes him kind of a bad player despite his individual talent.

I think as a society we’ve moved past grace periods for players and expect them to be great right away. Take gvardiol for example, priced at 90 mil, had a meady season and got slagged off. Bro probably is on so much coin that he has lost the hunger and drive to achieve already after winning a WC and dropping a hat trick in a WC final and being the best player in a domestic success at PSG. It’s not like his career has just started. He has been around for already 7 years. It’s hard to be at his level for so long.
