Just so everyone knows, I do not think these are the BEST platformers, was just a video idea I had to platinum the 4 platformers that playstation has listed on their website as being the "BEST". What I take away from this is that not only is Astro Bot the most fun, but it is the least tedious. I forgot how collectathon old game used to be. Never felt that way with Astro. One of my favorite games I’ve played in years.

@ I wasn’t a fan of the first par with Sonic and the final boss with Sonic was horrible done but I enjoyed the levels with Shadow but barely got a b-rank in almost every level the final boss with Shadow was alright could take him in one go still d-rank for some reason

@iamBandy I know you’re going to get a lot of comments like this but please play ratchet and clank since it literally is one of “PlayStation’s BEST PLATFOMRERA” (I’m assuming you’d probably play Rift part for your part 2 so meh, good enough) by the way, not be rude, but the title is a little misleading since it more accurately translates to “I Platinum’d Sony’s most recent releases or highly rated/market games on the store.” Because none of the games here in this video are bad but uhh ya might want to do your homework if you want to call this and the next video “Sony’s best platformers” without getting a bunch of comments saying something like “WHERE’S ___ YOU $&@;!” Only one here besides crash being a remaster that you can give such a title would be Astro bot.

Legends is a great game, but the platinum could take months due to needing awesomeness level 11, and the servers are packed full of cheaters. Plus they regularly go down, and may be permanently down sooner rather than later.

Sackboy is very easy. The only "challenge" is the final level with all the challenge levels combined. But it's only challenging because people think they need to rush. You can walk the whole time and still finish in time.

The five dlc levels in astro bot are speedrun levels, the difficulty comes in getting the best time possible... doing them once ain't really the point

But you don't need to do them in the fastest time possible for the trophies. You can in fact do them just the once and get both bots and never return to them again.

@mydogeatspuke yeah...? The guy was just going for trophies, sure, but asking for a longer level or more content when talking about an inherently repayable level is just silly. The point of the bots is as a first time reward and to be an incentive to beat your previous time if you didn't get the second bot, then to keep practicing it until you get the best time possible.

Getting a faster time when the only reward for doing so is.. having a faster time.. isn't a selling point. As for the bots being an incentive to beat your fastest time, I got them all first time. Maybe the target audience is a little less well versed in gaming or something.

@mydogeatspuke I genuinely can't tell if you're being serious or not. You'd have to be completely ignorant of speedrunning as a thing to genuinely think that the levels don't have replay value. There is so much experimentation you can do just by trying new strategies to get better scores in these levels. Team asobi didn't just make these for casuals to get the new bots, they did it because they know astro bot fans love and would appreciate the challenge

@nathanrcb I'm not ignorant of speed running at all. But speed running isn't inherent replay value. Any game can be played again with the intent to finish it faster, it doesn't have anything to do with the game itself but the person playing it. It's a very niche group of people who choose to play the same games (or specific parts of games) to an obsessive degree, with the sole intent of beating their own or each others scores. And that's fine, but it's not what replayability means. The average person doesn't replay a game to see how much faster they can do it this time. They replay for new experiences, maybe a different branching path in a story or ending, with a different build or ability load out to experience bosses in a new way, just as some examples. Replayability is the idea that you haven't seen all there is to see when the credits roll. Perhaps I'm just not an "astro bot fan," then, and instead the evidently only possible alternative, a "casual." I'm not sure my yearly player metrics would agree with that, but since you clearly see yourself as an authority on the subject, I guess you have to be right, and I, by default, must be wrong.

Single player games are my bread and butter, adventure, story, and especially platformers, so there is definitely no hate for platformers coming from me. I don't play any of the games you mentioned either. I just wasn't enamoured with Psychonauts 2, not as a stand alone game and certainly not when compared to the first one. Maybe that's just because I've played a lot more games than you have, and so it didn't bring anything "for once" for me. It's ok if you feel differently about your own personal experience with something that you experienced yourself as an entirely separate person from me, nobody is wrong here about their own feelings...
