H22 18x20 is based on Head Liquidmetal Radical but more muted. If you can get yourself a Head Liquidmetal Radical(made in Austria), you might be in for a treat.

What I've heard about the H22 and most pro stock rackets is that they are more flexible in the throat area than the retail versions such as the Blade 98 allowing the ball to sit on the strings a little longer, giving better control!

Pro stock racquets are usually flexible (low RA) and they are good for genuinely advanced or professional tennis players. You need to generate the power and spin yourself (unlike retail racquets which are made stiff to provide you with easy power and easy spin). The result is that retail stiff racquets are easy to use (can even arm the ball without moving the legs), forgiving but are with low control (can only play to big target areas). More importantly, the trajectory control is missing (just cannot control the trajectory of the ball at will), hence 'poor control / unpredictable' in launch angle, depth control and the making of angle shots. The professionals scream, "No control !". They need to have full control of the dynamic range of power and the dynamic range of spin (they generate their own power and spin, utilising the kinetic chain and engaging full body motion). If you play with control racquets (eg. modded pro stock racquets) and play proper tennis, make sure your opponents do the same. There is no point playing with a weekend warrior using tweener racquets who are not playing proper tennis 🤣. As their SHOTS/TARGETS/AIMS are not projectable (ie. cannot project their ball paths and even they are not sure where their balls are landing). No point in the exchange/rally/match 🤣.

@@prophetmargin7497 For me, I will not buy it as long as I don’t know the exact spec of the racket, eg. SW/balance/weight. The spec on pro stock rackets can be varied and I don’t think I can play well with a high SW one.

0:45 Stiffness on my V9 Blade Pro is 60RA unstrung and 59RA strung (measured on a Babolat RDC machine). Didn't get a chance to measure the RA of my V8 Blade Pro but it didn't feel like a 65RA racquet - felt flexier than that, maybe 62-63RA at a guess.

I had the same experience with my BP V9 - 61 RA strung, and seems to be the way with the stock that TW received as well as how a lot of people on TT have been describing their BPs. My only complaint is that mine also measured at 344 swing weight without any customization.

H22s simply aren't racquets for non-pros. Thin beam, super flexy, low weight etc. They need tons of modification and a ATP level game to get the best out of them!

I bought an 18x20 pro after selling my 16x19. I think these frames benefit from using a thinner gauge mutli. Not only lighter in the hoop but also more access to power.

Can you give insight about PA98 vs Blade 98 for allcourter? I know it is for spin vs flat game, but how about their easy-to-use? And can rec players play with BP or it is a waste of money?

PA98 is easier to play with. Can hit with higher margin of safety and more depth. On the Blade Pro, I think swingweight hovers around 340+-, see if you can deal with that.

This is very interesting. However with the time we have on court, we tend to use one racket and when it comes time to demo rackets , we will know if it’s time to think about trying different rackets. Otherwise we tend to go back to our own rackets. This is best exemplified when we are playing a lot during the summers here in the northeast. The only time demoing rackets comes up is during the beginning of the year when new rackets come out. Right now there are no new rackets being brought out. Even when we play with our own rackets, there are plenty to work on during our hitting sessions. Retail rackets are fine, especially when our time is academy sessions, junior tournaments , lessons, hitting on our own, work for us parents, and hitting with our friends or our tournament kids. Retail rackets are great and they work for 95% of the club players and there’s variety. Pro stocks are made for pros and high level players. It does feel better, that’s for sure but the majority of club players won’t benefit from this.

Interesting that you say at 11:24 that you need to swing faster than usual to get power. I would have thought that a racquet with a higher static and swing weight wouldn't require as much speed (since momentum is mass multiplied by velocity).

Actually static weight is the same as my other rackets at 328-330g. Have to check swingweight with the machine. I suspect it could be higher than 330. It feels pretty hard to swing than my other rackets that have 325 SW.

@@rbarreira2the racket is head light that’s why. I’ve had to add a lot of lead tape to get it back the balance of the old blades. If the specs continue to be this way…I’m going to have to switch brands.

If you’re hitting flat then normal blade is ok. But if you hit topspin, better to go with Pro.

Blade pro from Wilson labs is made from H22 mold with certain spec. H22 pro stock is a mold that could have different specs and stiffness.

I don’t think it worths the extra bucks. Should be pretty much the same as Blade Pro except flex profile.

Can you compare h22 18x20 to gravity pro and solinco 18x20

Way more spin than the gravity pro and feel a bit more flex. More powerful as well. Lighter and more maneuverable, at least this one. Can’t say for all because specs are varied. Compared to whiteout 18x20, the whiteout feels easier to swing and more consistent for me. But the plow and feel are on a different level. The ball speed on H22 is way faster and heavier. Spin probably the same.

Probably on the pocketing aspect. Other than that, not really. H22 is way softer than Tfight and it’s way head heavier, it transfers power in a different way.

@@michaelp9061 as a professional stringer of over 15 years and owner of several of these, both 16/19 & 18/20, working closely with Wilson Chicago, that is not my understanding. Pros , according to Ron Rocci receive their “pro frames”, from racquets manufactured in Chicago. These frames include h19s, h22s and others in various layups.

@drakulie. Wrong. H22 is manufactured in China as well. The only difference is that as a pro player you have a choice of different layups within the H22 mold. The Blade Pro is a H22 mold as well but with one particular layup.

4:00 I think you should have used a 1.25mm string at normal tensions as it will play more consistently. Using that 1.20mm string at 48/46lbs is too extreme for a racquet like that.

I dont understand how an 18x20 can be lighter than the 16x19 version. Surely the 1st has more strings and thus weight in the hoop?

It’s a pro stock. There’s no standard spec. My assumption is, in the tour, players use 18x20 more, while 16x19 is rare. So, many of the 16x19 I got is probably from certain player who wants it heavy.
